You probably already know that Bristol is a great city to be a student in, so why not make the most of it by jumping on our buses and exploring? We've got great services to UWE, plus a network of buses that go pretty much everywhere you'll need to go.
The metrobus m1, m3 and m4 services are a great way to get to UWE with buses up to every 10 minutes (Monday - Friday daytime). With 8 services to Frenchay Campus, services to Bower Ashton, and Glenside and over 50 services going near to the Arnolfini campus, travelling by bus to uni has never been so easy.

Student tickets
We've got a fantastic range of student tickets, meaning there is something to suit your needs - however often you use the bus. All students in full time education get a discount on all bus tickets in the West of England area. Just show your UWE Student ID card when buying and using them.
In the Bristol Zone we operate a single flat fare, meaning no matter how far you travel, you pay the same price. Our Bristol Zone tickets allow unlimited travel on over 50 First Bus and metrobus services* in Bristol.
The m1, m3 and m4 metrobus services are buy before you board and Tap On, Tap Off only, so you will need a ticket or contactless card or device before you board the bus. First Bus mTickets are valid on all metrobus services. Single and day tickets can be bought from the metrobus iPoint which are located next to the metrobus stops.

Our West of England Zone tickets allow unlimited travel on all First Bus and metrobus services* in Bristol, Bath and the surround areas including Clevedon, Chipping Sodbury, Weston-super-Mare, Frome and many more.

Where to buy?
From your driver. Singles, 2-Trip, Day or Week. All our buses accept contactless payment to the value of £45.
Via mTickets on the free First Bus App, allowing your bus ticket to be purchased and used on your smartphone.
- Search for ‘First Bus’ in your app store and download the First Bus app
- Select ‘Bristol, Bath & the West’ area
- Press mTickets from the bottom menu, then Bristol, Bath and the West and then Bristol
- Click on Buy at the top and then select 2-Trip, Day, Week, Month or Month+. Choose the Student ticket you need.
- You will be asked to set up an account, please complete the requested details.
- click Continue and you will be asked to confirm you are a student.
- Select a payment method to purchase your ticket
- You can either use it straight away or move to the wallet to use later
- When you want to travel, activate your ticket and then scan the QR code on the bus.
From the driver of any First Bus in Bristol: Singles, Day or Week. You can buy tickets up to the value of £45 using contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
