We know that every day lots of our colleagues go above and beyond for our customers and each other. The Extra Mile awards are about recognising great service; whether it's to our customers or to our colleagues. We also know our colleagues have high safety standards and do great things each day. The Extra Mile awards recognise this.

Every nominee will receive local recognition of their achievement* and could potentially win a national First Bus prize.

If you'd like to nominate a colleague for an Extra Mile Award, simply fill in the details on the form below, select a category that best matches what that person did, and tell us in 200 words or less what they did. The more details you give us the easier it will be to identify and judge the colleague you're nominating.

Terms and Conditions

Open to all residents and employees of First based in the UK and Ireland only. The immediate families of employees are not permitted to nominate. The nominator cannot nominate themselves.

Entries will be collated at the last day of each month for consideration of that month's judging for selection of either a silver or bronze Extra Mile Award. All Silver winners will then be considered for Gold and Diamond prizes on an annual basis.

  1. No cash alternative is available.
  2. Nominees will be notified within one month of nomination. The nominee must take part in all reasonable publicity.
  3. Failure to provide complete details about the nominee may result in their omission from the process.
  4. The Judge's decision is final and binding.
