You can grab your PR1 Park & Ride tickets in advance on the FREE First Bus App, but if you're travelling from Sprowston you'll need to pay on the day when you board the bus. Easy peasy!

Q: How long does the bus ride take?
A: The journey into the city is a breeze! It usually takes between 10-20 minutes, depending on which site you’re coming from and, of course, how traffic is feeling that day.
Q: Are the Park & Ride sites safe?
A: Absolutely! We take your safety seriously. All our sites are equipped with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and proudly hold the Park Mark Safer Parking Award. Your car is in good hands.
Q: Can I use the Park & Ride for a night out?
A: Definitely! Our buses run until late*, so you can leave your worries behind and enjoy your night out without a care about parking or driving home. It’s the perfect way to make your evening a little bit easier.
*Last buses back are as follows: Thickthorn 23:15 (Mon-Sun). Sprowston 23:07 (Mon-Sat) or 22:07 (Sun). Airport 20:14 (Mon-Sat) or 17:45 (Sun).
Q: Where can I buy my Park & Ride day tickets?
A: Our Park & Ride Day tickets can be purchased on the bus when you board and can be used all day as many times as you like across both our Pink Line and PR1 services. You can also purchase Park & Ride Day tickets for our Thickthorn and Airport sites on the First Bus App, but these tickets are only valid on the PR1 service.
Q: Can I buy a Park & Ride ticket to use for journeys that start at other bus stops along the route?
A: No, you can't. Our Park & Ride tickets are only valid for journeys that start at the Park & Ride sites. If you're starting your journey from any other bus stop, normal fares apply.
Q: Can I use my concession bus pass on the Park & Ride?
A: If you're a concession pass holder boarding at the Park & Ride site, you'll have access to a special discounted fare costing just £2 for the entire day! If you're boarding anywhere else, usual concession rules apply.
Q: Can I board a Park & Ride bus at Sprowston and use the same ticket to travel to the Airport on the PR1?
A: Yes! Our Park & Ride Day tickets are valid for an unlimited amount of journeys all in one day. To get to the Airport from Sprowston, change at Anglia Square. If you're travelling to the Airport from Thickthorn, just stay on the bus! The PR1 goes straight there once it's dropped off in the city centre.
Terms & Conditions
The use of the car parks is controlled by Norfolk County Council Park and Ride Sites (off-street parking places) Order 2014. A copy of this order can be inspected during office hours at County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2SG.
In Summary
- All vehicles must park within marked parking bays.
- Customers may not park without using the Park & Ride service or displaying a valid permit.
- Vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes, trailers and touring caravans are not permitted to park within the site.
- Vehicles parked in the disabled bay must have a valid disabled clock displayed on the dashboard.
- Camping/overnight parking is not permitted.
- Instruction of pupils undertaking driving lessons is not permitted.
- Travel is only permitted with the correct bus ticket.
- Norfolk County Council and it's agents will not be responsible for injury to any person using this car park not for losses or damage to their vehicle or property however arising.
- Vehicles are parked entirely at owners' own risk.
