A47 Closure Easton - Dereham (all excel services)

The A47 will be closed between Easton and Dereham from 20:00 on Friday 14th November 2025 until 06:00 on Monday 17th November 2025. This will impact on all excel services on the Friday evening and all day Saturday. Services on Monday should be unaffected unless there is an overrun on the planned works beyond 06:00

All excel services will be on diversion which will result in the following impacts for passengers

  • Norwich Rail Station will not be served after 20:00 on the Friday and will not be served all day Saturday

  • In Norwich, stops at Castle Meadow, Lime Tree Road and Cringleford Interchange will not be served

  • In Dereham stops at Wellington Road, Cowper Road and all stops along Norwich Road will not be served.

  • Stops in Easton and Hockering will not be served

Journeys will operate via Horsford, Great Witchingham, Bawdeswell, Billingford and North Elmham into Dereham and the same route on the return journeys. This will result in longer journey times and potential delays as it is likely that there will be a significant increase in traffic on these roads displaced from the A47.

Passengers are advised to allow extra time to complete their journeys.

We apologise to all passengers affected by this change to our services which is outside our control.
