These service improvements have been brought to you as part of the North Somerset Council and West of England Combined Authority's Bus Service Improvement Plan, funded by the Department for Transport.

Route Changes

Service 3 Worle – Weston-super-Mare – Searle Crescent

Service 3 will be replaced by services 6 and X1. Please see information below.

Service 6 Worle – Weston-super-Mare

This service will be a new Weston-super-Mare town service focussing on local links between Worle, Mead Vale, Upper Bristol Road and Weston town centre. The route will follow the existing 3 route between Worle Terminus and Mead Vale before serving Worle High Street via New Bristol Road and Station Road. It will then continue on along Baytree Road and the Upper Bristol Road, before reaching the town centre via Alfred Street.

Service 51, 51s (becomes Service 125, 51s) Weston-super-Mare – Wrington

This North Somerset contracted route will have significant changes. The 51 will be renumbered 125, the 51s will remain as the 51s. The 125 will no longer serve Locking Parklands and instead serve Locking Village on the 2-hourly timetable. The service will also no longer serve The Runway/Haywood Village, instead additionally serving Flowerdown Retail Park in and out of Weston-super-Mare. In the town centre, the service will no longer run via the Railway Station forecourt.

As a result of parent and pupil safety concerns, there will be a 3.45pm service departing from the Churchill Academy school grounds for pupils travelling to Locking and Weston-super-Mare.

Service 7 will be extended to Locking Parklands as a more frequent replacement for this area (please see above). Service 125 can still be caught from nearby bus stops at Old Banwell Road/Elborough Turn.

Service X1 Asda & Bournville – Weston-super-Mare – Bristol

Service X1 will run more frequently - now every 15 minutes all through the day on weekday daytimes.

At Weston-super-Mare, it will be extended beyond the town centre (Marine Parade) to replace the existing service 3 route through Bournville to Searle Crescent, picking up the existing service 3 route from Clevedon Road. It will terminate at Asda having come via Marchfields Way and Winterstoke Road to avoid peak time congestion. The 15 minute frequency means that Bournville will benefit from more frequent buses than before, as well as the service running much later into the evening than the 3.

Service X5 Weston-super-Mare – Clevedon – Portishead

Between Clevedon and Worle, the X5 will now serve Yatton and Congresbury rather than taking its existing route via the M5. This sees a restoration of bus services to Yatton, and increases the journey opportunities available on service X5.

The X5 will also serve the South Road area of Weston-super-Mare at the start of most trips to Portishead, providing a link from South Road to town, and journey opportunities onto Yatton, Clevedon and Portishead.
