Service 1A | Martham Road | Road Closure

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the following services will not run:

66 service - OCM -14:03 to Martlesham 

66 service - Martlesham - 14:40 - Ipswich railway station - OCM 

66A service - OCM - 16:28 to Martlesham 

66A service - Martlesham - 17:10 - Ipswich railway station - OCM 

75 service - OCM - 16:15 to Felixstowe Grange Farm 

75 service - Felixstowe Grange Farm 17:33 to Ipswich OCM 

On Sunday 18th January 2025 a 350 tonne transformer required for the Hornsea 3 off-shore wind farm will be transported on the A47 from the port at Kings Lynn to the A140 junction at Norwich and then to Swardeston.

The load will be travelling at a maximum speed of 12mph and will take the entire day to complete the journey. It is anticipated that there may be delays to traffic in general and as a result there is the potential for some disruption to our Excel A service. Customers are advised to allow additional time for their journeys in case of such delays.

We apologise to all excel customers in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused on the day, our team will be working to minimise disruption.

Due to this overnight closure, the following diversion is in place:

The diversion through Flixton means that buses will not be returning through Bungay toward Norwich.

Services will be waiting at  St Marys (Buttercross) stop.

Customers will need to board at Trinity Street instead.

From 20.00.

Services due at Hillside West at or after 19.54 will stop at the Broad Street (opposite The Green Dragon) and operate via Hillside West, Bardolph Road Loop, Hillside Road West, Flixton, A143 & Ditchingham.

Services will collect passengers from the stops on the opposite side of the road on their way to Hillside Road West.

Due to a breakdown in Martham, the service 1 will not depart Martham, we will try to resume service at Market Gates.

X11 08:45 from Market Gates will not run, we will resume service asap.

The section of the bus gate where the stops are has been closed by roadworks.

Currently, 24/24A will continue to roundabout and use the far section of the bus gate as a temporary stop ( same back toward City).

This has now been confirmed as a full closure, and will be in place until the 20th of January

Service 40, 40A | Upgate | Closure

Upgate, Poringland is closed, service 40/40A are diverted outbound:

Toward Poringland: The Railway PH roundabout onto Long Road, St Annes Road and resume route back toward City.

40A - From the Railway roundabout and follow the above.

We will not be able to serve Upgate.

Services 14,15,16 and 17

Due to the closure on Yarmouth Road from 19th January 2026 to 22nd January 2026 services 14,15,16,and 17, will be diverted up Harvery lane to heartsease roundabout turning left ont St Williams way to Pound lane where service 14 will continue into sainsburys and resume normal route to Dussingdale

Sevices 15,16 and 17 will turn right at lights then left at mini roundabout to resume normal route to Blofield, Lingwood and Broadland business Park.

Due to Re-surfacing works taking place 12th -16th January, between hours 20:00 - 06:00 

11A, 13, 14 and Excel will not be able to serve stops at the Cringleford interchange.

11A will be on diversion towards the hospital.

From Monday 12th January 2026 until Friday 20th March 2026 all excel services will be unable to serve stops in Market Place, Dereham due to improvement works funded by Norfolk County Council taking place in the area.

Services in both directions will instead operate from a temporary facility in a section of the Cherry Tree Car Park, following minor diversions to serve these temporary stops. (see map)

Timetables for all services will remain unchanged.
