11/A/12/13/21/A/28/29/X29/36/A/37/38/39/PR1 - Anglia Square/Palace Street

The previously posted diversion for the affected routes ( 11/A/12/13/21/A/28/29/X29/36/A/37/38/39/PR1) has had to be changed due to the closure of Palace St by a burst water main.

There are 2 separate diversion routes:

Service PR1/11/A/12/13 are diverting via Bank Plain, St Andrews, St Crispins. 

All other services are diverting via Prince of Wales Rd, Riverside Rd, Barrack St, he Charlton Rd/Cowgate temporary stops as an alternative to Anglia Square.

Fishergate is not suitable unless the council can cone off areas leading to the junction from all directions. Even then, we could only use it in one direction due to the size of the road and of our vehicles.

Middelton Road Closure (24 hours) towards Belton

Service X11

Diversion via Lowestoft Road (Service 1/1A), to Victoria Road, A47 and resume service as normal,

Services towards Yarmouth normal service.

Service BM11

Diverting via Church Road, Gorleston High Street and then do same diversion of X11, returning to Yarmouth to College and then towards Gorleston High Street to do diversion.

Due to works on Filby Road service 7 will be unable to serve Filby or Fleggburgh from 19:00- 6:00 am each night (19/02/26-21/02/26) Closure in place from this evening (16/02/26 to 21/02/26)

Buses will divert via Acle Old Road, Clippesby, Heath Road, Mill Lane, High Road, Ormesby Bypass, Norwich Road and then normal route. (inbound journeys will follow the same route)

Due to the closure of Staithe Road, service X41 operating to/from Halesworth will operate directly along St Johns Road to/from Bungay Town Centre (St Marys).

Services 41/41A and X41services that terminate in Bungay (Hillside Road West) and will operate along Hillside Road East, Annis Hill Lane, Hillside Road East to Hillside West.

FROM Hillside Road West, services will serve stops along Hillside Road East, but will operate via Annis Hill, Hillside Road East and St Johns Road to the town centre (St Marys Road).

This will maintain the correct service/stops in the correct direction along Hillside Road East.

Unfortunately, the Halesworth services will not have sufficient time to run along Hillside Road East.

Service 13

Due to Rosetta Rd closure sevice 13

will be unable to serve Christine Rd, Redwing Gardens, James Green Close and Russel Avenue (co op) stops

 Out of City Bus will divert from Giles rd, left onto park Rd, right onto Buxton Rd to Ivy Rd terminus.

Out of City From Lilian Rd, right onto Croswick Lane, left onto Buxton Rd, left into Park Rd then right into Giles Rd  

Service 23

Breckland Rd will be closed from Monday 16th February to Sunday 22nd February

Service 23 will divert via Three Mile Lane to Grove Rd.

Sorry for any inconveneince 

Due to road closure/demolition works on Edward St/Magdalen St from 1st February 2026 we will not be able to serve Anglia Sq.

Services 11,11A,12 and 13

Out of City will divert from Tombland turning right at The Maids Head Hotel to roundabout taking 2nd exit onto Charlton Rd/ Bull Close Rd to Artichoke traffic lights then turning right and picking up normal routes.

There is a stop at Cowgate, Charlton Rd as an alternative for Anglia Sq.

Into City the above service will turn left into Bull Close Rd onto Charlton Rd, 2nd exit at roundabout following onto Palace St then picking up normal route into City

There is a stop on Bull close Rd as an alternative for Anglia Sq.

Services 21,21A,28,29,X29,36,37,38,39,&PR1 

Out of City will divert from Tombland turning right at The Maids Head Hotel (There will be a temporary stop at Fishergate on Whitefriars for an alternative to Anglia Sq) follow to roundabout taking 1st exit onto flyover then 3rd exit onto Pitt St to St Augustines then picking up  normal routes 

Into City the above service will omit the Edward St stop, follow road to St Crispins roundabout taking 1st exit onto flyover then 3rd exit onto Whitefriars

There will be a temporary stop just opposite Fishergate on Whitefriars for an alternative to Anglia Sq

Sorry for any inconvenience 

From Monday 12th January 2026 until Friday 20th March 2026 all excel services will be unable to serve stops in Market Place, Dereham due to improvement works funded by Norfolk County Council taking place in the area.

Services in both directions will instead operate from a temporary facility in a section of the Cherry Tree Car Park, following minor diversions to serve these temporary stops. (see map)

Timetables for all services will remain unchanged.
