Due to pre patching works along the Long Cross From Mancroft Avenue to Shirehampton Lights, Long Cross will be closed to traffic and as such the buses will divert to use Kingsweston Lane, St Andrews Road and Avonmouth Way to and from Shirehampton for the duration of the closure.

Layer Road, Colchester is closed for roadworks, on a daily basis, from Sunday 27th April to Thursday 1st May 2025.

The road is to be closed from 08:00hrs each morning and is to re-open from 17:00hrs each evening.

Due to the location of the road closure - the 56 and 57 services will be placed on diversion:

The 56 service will divert in both directions via Drury Road, Shrub End Road and Walnut Tree Way.

Service 21 is terminating at Riverside Road due to no suitable diversion. - Trentham is not able to be served.

Service 22 is diverting between Riverside Road and Blurton (via A500, A50, Stanley Matthews Way in both directions) - Trentham and Trentham Road are not served due to no suitable diversion.

Service 101 is diverting between Trentham Gardens and Riverside Road via A500, A50, Stanley Matthews Way, Trentham Road, Longton Road in both directions. - There is no service along the A34 in either direction between Hanford and Trentham Gardens.
