Who are White Ribbon?

White Ribbon is the UK’s leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls. White Ribbon address the root causes of men’s violence against women, such harmful attitudes, behaviours and systems that perpetuate gender inequality and gender-based violence against women.

Accredited Organisation

As an accredited organisation, First Bus is committed to creating a positive and safe organisational culture, raising awareness among staff, and influencing wider societal change. This commitment includes upskilling our employees on gender-based violence issues, improving our data capture and report-based mechanisms, and actively building upon our inclusive workplace to ensure everyone feels they belong.

Leading the change

First Bus has a steering group leading this change, alongside having a growing number of White Ribbon Champions and Ambassadors within the business – however our progress does not stop there. We acknowledge that being a White Ribbon accredited organisation is the beginning of a journey to address gender-based violence against women – not the end.

In alignment with our wider Violence Against Women and Girls strategy, we have partnered with Strut Safe, a volunteer-operated support telephone line offering a friendly voice at the end of the phone for those travelling or walking home alone in the UK.

Find out more about how you can become an active ally towards the White Ribbon promise – to never use, excuse or remain silent about men’s violence against women - and make tangible change.
