TV’s Anneka Rice has joined forces with First Bus to encourage people in Leeds in their 60s and beyond to dust off their bus passes and re-discover the joy of concessionary bus travel this summer.

The partnership follows new research from First Bus, which reveals that 71% of Leeds respondents say having a bus pass improved their quality of life.

Highlighting the benefits of concessionary bus travel, more than half (60%) say that having a bus pass has made them more social, while 61% say they get out more now that they have their bus pass.

The partnership follows new research from First Bus, which reveals that while 80% of Welsh respondents thought getting their bus pass would make them feel old, they actually love having one - with almost three-quarters (74%) describing it as their "ticket to freedom."

Eastbourne Avenue in Bath will be closed to service 6a between 14:00 and 17:00 on Sunday 6th July to facilitate a Street Party.

Service 6a heading back to Bath from Larkhall, when reaching the junction of Eastbourne Avenue, is to operate the reverse of the journey to Larkhall.

Diverting via Bay Tree Road, Fairfield Avenue, Solsbury Way, Marshfield Way and Fairfield Road.

Chelmer Valley Road, Chelmsford is closed for overnight roadworks from Thursday 3rd July to Saturday 5th July 2025.

The road will be closed from 21:00hrs each evening and will re-open from 05:00hrs each morning.
