High Street, Colchester is closed for overnight roadworks from 19:00hrs on Sunday 3rd August to 05:00hrs on Monday 4th August 2025.

Due to the location of the road closure - the following services will be placed on minor diversions: 51 / 52 / 53 / 54 / 55 / 56 / 57 / 1A / 2A / 68A / X71/371 / 75 / 87 / 88/88A / 104/102 / X20

The following bus stops will not be served for the duration of the closure:

X11 Service - 1900 Friday 15th until 0700 Monday 18th August (1900-0700) for three nights

Great Yorkshire Way will be closed in one direction from the M18 roundabout to iPort roundabout for resurfacing works.

OUTBOUND services are unaffected.

X2, X3 & X11 Services - 2000 Monday 11th until 0600 Wednesday 13th August (2000-0600) for two nights

Balby Road will be closed in one direction under the flyover for bridge inspection work.

216 & X5 Services - Monday 4th August until Monday 1st September (0930-1500) weekdays only

Ryton Road will be closed (under the railway bridge) for resurfacing works.

81, 82 & 272 Services - Thursday 31st July (0930-1530)

Ecclesall Road will be closed in one direction outside Sheaf Brewery.

24, 25 & 95 Services - Monday 4th until Friday 29th August (at all times)

Broad Street will be closed for road works.

Outbound services are diverted via Park Square roundabout, Duke Street, Bernard Street & Cricket Inn Road. 

116 Service - Monday 28th July until Friday 1st August (0800-1600)

Oldgate Lane will be closed for resurfacing works.

Services diverted via Doncaster Road, Park Lane & Vale Road in both directions.

Stop closure - William Frost Way stop (Opp Sainsburys)

This stop is inaccessible due to roadworks with no Temp stop provided.

24/A/B from Queens Hill have been instructed to serve the Pizza Hut stop at the other end of Sainsburys as an alternative.
