VJ Day Commemorative Service 2025

High Street, Great Dunmow will be closed on Friday 15th August 2025 from 09:45hrs to 12:15hrs.

Due to the location of the road closure - the X20 service will divert in both directions via Braintree Road and Dunmow Bypass (B1256).

The following bus stops will not be served in both directions:

Service X51 | Axminster - Weymouth | Disruption

Due to operational issues the 12:15 from Axminster is currently delayed. An engineer is on route however, we do not yet have an ETA as to when the service will commence.

Service T1A | Aberystwyth to Carmarthen | Disruption

Due to an unexpected road closure, the 9.35 T1A from Aberystwyth to Carmarthen has not operated between Llanfarian and Carmarthen.

Service 21, 23, 40A, 25, 9, 501 | College Road | Reopen 11/08

On Monday 11th August after 14:00 College Road will reopen in both directions.

Service 21 – This service will remain as is. Service will stay on Stoke Road and will continue to go under Stoke Bridge into Stoke. Inbound will use Shelton Old Road, Stoke Road.

Service 8A | Thornbridge Drive | Roadworks

Monday 18th until Friday 22nd August (at all times)

Thornbridge Drive will be closed between Birley Moor Road and Smalldale Road for Gully Works.

Service 8, 8A, and 20 | Greaves Road | Road Closure

On Friday 15th until Friday 29th August (07:00-19:00), Greaves Road will be closed for SCC works.

Outbound 8/8A services diverted via High Street, Yew Lane, Morrall Road, and Monteney Road.

Service 82 | Millhouses Lane | Roadworks

Millhouses Lane has been closed by unannounced SCC works.

Outbound services diverted via Knowle Lane, Ecclesall Road South, Abbey Lane, Abbeydale Road South to terminate prior to Dobcroft Road.

Service 7, and 7A | Balmore Road | Disruption

Due to a non-departmental road traffic collision, services are to divert as follows:

Hawthorn Street, Ashfield Street, Ashgill Road

Service 8 | St Thomas Street | Roadworks

Due to Wessex Water Works on St Thomas Street on 13th August. Services are to divert as follows:

Inbound

Bus will turn left on to Westham Road and continue to Esplanade Road and terminate at King’s Statue k5.
