55/56: New times introduced to allow the service to use the new iport bridge. The opening of the bridge has been delayed until further notice. Services 55/56 will remain unchanged.

THESE ROAD WORKS HAVE NOW BEEN CANCELLED
On Monday the 8th January 2024 the bus stop on Highlands Road called Festing Road will be closed all week due to road works. There is no room to site a temporary stop so please use the next stop at Bristol Road. This affects the service 2 eastbound only. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We have no control over these works and the contractor may change them at short notice.
Broad Street will be closed overnight between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 on the 08 to 10 January, buses will divert as follows:
Services 17,17A,172,19 heading from George Street to Union Street
From Berry Street:
• right onto Gallowgate
• left onto Littlejohn Street
• right onto West North Street
• right onto King Street (stop at St Andrew’s Cathedral)
• resume normal service from Union Street

First Essex delivers Christmas gifts to help families in Colchester
Colleagues from bus operator First Essex, have donated over 200 gifts and clothes to Essex Police’s annual Giving Tree initiative for underprivileged children.
The gifts, including seven scooters, a bike, skateboards, basketball hoops, dressing up clothes, toys, games, books and warm clothing were donated by First Essex colleagues at the company’s Colchester depot.
Garthdee Road will be closed at Auchinyell, buses will divert as follows:
Service 1 from RGU to Danestone
From RGU:
• right onto Garthdee Road
• 1st exit at the roundabout onto Anderson Drive
• 3rd exit at the roundabout onto Broomhill Road and resume normal service
