Main Road, Chelmsford is closed for daily roadworks, between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs, from Tuesday 1st July to Thursday 3rd July 2025.

First Bus has been named Scotland’s Public Transport Operator of the Year 2025 at the Scottish Transport Awards in Glasgow.
The award, which is open to all Scottish bus, rail, tram and ferry operators, celebrates the performance of First Bus across Greater Glasgow and Aberdeen over the last year. The operator completed over 96.5 million passenger journeys, growing year-on-year, connecting more people and communities with employment, education and leisure activities.
Since their introduction in October 2023, monitoring has shown a downward trend in the quantity of nitrogen dioxide in the air, with the latest data showing 16.5 NO₂ µg (Nitrogen Dioxide in micrograms per metre cubed) for May 2025. This is the lowest figure seen since monitoring began in July 2023.
While there will always be some seasonal variations, air quality monitoring on Castle Meadow has seen a reduction in NO₂ levels for eight of the last eleven months.
On Tuesday the 24th of June between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, there will be a road closure along St Georges Hill, Perranporth.
