To allow for motorway works on Thursday 3rd July 20:00 until Friday 4th July 06:00, Stirling Road on Slips to M8 J15 East Bound will be closed.

During the closure, the following diversion will be in operation:

From Buchanan Bus Station towards Motherwell/Blantyre Depot via Stirling Road, St James Road, Castle Street, Alexandra Parade, Cumbernauld Road, Provan Road, M8 normal route.
 

A group of bus drivers and managers with First Bus York are getting ready to try their hand at steering a different form of transport – a boat.

They are part of team from the operator taking part in the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge on Sunday 13 July.

The drivers will be joined by General Manager, Joel Bradley and management colleagues to make up the 16 rowers needed with the team name First Rider Vikings.

TV’s Anneka Rice has joined forces with First Bus to encourage people in Bristol in their 60s and beyond to dust off their bus passes and re-discover the joy of concessionary bus travel this summer.

The partnership follows new research from First Bus, which reveals that while 71% of Bristol respondents thought getting their bus pass would make them feel old, they actually love using it.

Highlighting the benefits of concessionary bus travel, three in five (60%) of those surveyed in Bristol say having a bus pass has improved their quality of life.

The partnership follows new research from First Bus, which reveals more that more than three-quarters (76%) of bus pass holders in the region say their quality of life has improved since getting their card.

A further two-thirds (63%) recognise that they get out and about more now they have access to concessionary bus travel.
