The Stanway School
Welcome to The Stanway School travel page:
First Essex operates the 17 bus service which travels from West Bergholt to Stanway; a convenient route for students travelling to and from school.
There are two double-decker vehicles allocated to this route and they operate once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Tickets:
We offer a selection of ticket options to choose from which are calculated in-line with the school calendar year (and school opening and closure times). The price of this service can be discounted with the purchase of bulk travel.
Annual*:
Valid 4th September 2023 to 19th July 2023; providing travel on service 17 to The Stanway School (Monday to Friday).
*Please note. you will receive one ticket which will be valid for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Term:
Autumn Term: Valid 4th September 2023 to 22nd December 2023.
Spring Term: Valid 8th January 2024 to 28th March 2024.
Summer Term: Valid 15th April 2024 to 19th July 2024.
All prices exclude staff inset days, bank holidays, half-term breaks and school holidays.

If a student travels without a valid bus pass they will be asked to pay the on-bus fare with cash.

The ticket will be pre-loaded, on the travel card, and dispatched in the next available post (1st class delivery).
Is there financial assistance for low income families?
Parents or guardians can apply to Essex County Council for subsidised travel to the nearest available school for their home address, if they live within the qualifying distance from that school. The full education transport policy sets out the criteria for a child to qualify for school transport.
