Service 87

Brightlingsea High Street will be closed to traffic from Tuesday 12th December - Saturday 16th December from 19:30-05:00.

During this road closure the 87 service will be diverted:

Towards Brightlingsea - From Bellfield Avenue, left into Chapel Lane, left into Seaview Road, Ladysmith Avenue and terminating (outside Tesco) and restarting from Victoria Place.

During this diversion the following stops will not be served:

• Chapel Lane
• Bellfield Road, adj
• Hurst Green
• High Street

Services 102-104

Oakley Road, Wix will be closed to traffic from Tuesday 12th December - Thursday 14th December from 08:00  -16:00

During this road closure the 102 and 104 services will be diverted:

Towards Harwich - From Bradfield Road ahead into Wix Road, Colchester Road, Clacton Road, Wix Road and left onto Harwich Road (B1414) and return to line of route.

Towards Colchester - From Harwich Road right into Wix Road, Clacton Road, Colchester Road, Wix Road and Bradfield Road and return to line to route.

During this diversion the following stops will not be served:

• Wix Cross
• Oakley Road

Services 83-83B-88B

Heath Road, Eight Ash Green will be closed to traffic from Tuesday 12th December - Thursday 14th December at all times.

During this closure the 83-83B-88B services will be diverted:

Towards Halstead - From Halstead Road continues past Spring Lane, right into Wood Lane , Fiddlers Hill and return to line of route.

Towards Colchester - From Wood Lane, past Heath Road, left onto Halstead Road and return to line of route.

During this diversion the following stops will not be served:

• The Walk
• Huxtable Lane
• The Cricketers
• Heath Cottages
• Wood Lane

Nearest stop will be:

• Beech Grove, Wood Lane

Stands K and L, at Basildon Bus Station, are closed for refurbishment until further notice. For the duration of the closure; the following services will be temporarily moved to alternate stands:

B3 will operate from Stand C

B4 will operate from Stand D

Notices will be posted and First Bus staff will be on-site to offer directions to the temporary bus stands.

Service 102

Brook Street Dedham will closed to traffic from Monday 11th December - Friday 15th December

During this closure the 102 service will  be diverted:

Towards Harwich - From Ardleigh crossroads, carries on along Dedham Road, right into Long Road West, right onto Coggeshall Road then left onto Harwich Road and return to line of route.

Towards Colchester - From Harwich Road, right into Coggeshall Road, right onto Long Road West and left onto Dedham Road and return to line of route.

During this diversion the following stops will not be served:

• The Marlborough Head
• Forge Street
• Kiln Cottages
• Coppers Lane
• The Anchor
• The Heath

The Watchouse Road/Barnard Road, Galleywood junction will be closed for roadworks from 27/11/2023 to 11/12/2023. The road will be closed at all times.

Due to the location of the road closure, services C1-C5-C57 will be placed on the following diversion routes -

The C1 service towards Galleywood will terminate at Keene Hall bus stop on Watchouse Road.

The C1 service towards Chelmsford will commence journeys at Skinners Lane Shops bus stop.

C7

The C7 service towards Galleywood will divert after serving Purbeck Court bus stop (on Dorset Avenue) via Duffield Road, Beehive Lane and Skinner's Lane before returning to normal line of route on Watchouse Road.

The C7 service towards Chelmsford will divert after serving Keene Hall via Stock Road, Beehive Lane and Duffield Road before returning to normal line of route at Purbeck Court bus stop (on Dorset Avenue).

The following stops will not be served for the duration of the road closure:

C57

The C57 service towards Galleywood will divert after serving The Beehive bus stop via Dorset Avenue, Duffield Road, Beehive Lane and Skinner's Lane before terminating at Keene Hall bus stop on Watchouse Road. 

The C57 service towards Chelmsford will divert after serving Keene Hall bus stop via Stock Road, Beehive Lane, Duffield Road and will follow round Dorset Avenue before returning to normal line of route on Beehive Lane -

• Readers Corner
• Gt. Baddow Barn
• The Green

Service 370

Colne Road, Halstead will be closed to traffic from 20th November 2023 to 19th January 2024 

During this road closure the 370 service will terminate and depart from Butler Road car park.

During this closure the following stops will not be served:

• Ramsey School
• Coggeshall Way
• Fern Road
• Courtauld Playing Fields
• Nether Court
• Pretoria Road

All Colchester Services

Colchester High street will be closed to traffic for Christmas events on 26th November and the 10th December from 05:00 - 22:00

The following diversions will be in place during these closures:

Services traveling to the High Street from North Station/Middleborough S1/S2/S3/2A/86/87/X20 - Will divert turning from Middleborough using Balkerne Hill and Southway to Osborne Street.

Services traveling from East Hill towards Osborne Street 1A/2A/87/102 - Will divert using Brook Street and Magdalen Street.

Services traveling from Lexden Road/ Maldon Road/ Butt Road towards Osborne Street S6/S7/1A/75/88A/371 - Will divert using Southway.

Services departing Osborne Street to Magdalen Street/Old Heath Road/Mersea Road S4/S6/S8/S9/76/86 - Will divert using Stanwell Street and Southway.

Services traveling towards East Hill 1A/87/102 - Will divert using Stanwell Street, Magdalen Street and Brook Street.

None of the High Street stops will be served during these closures

*The road closure has been lifted; however, temporary lights have been installed to control traffic flow around the work site. The road is therefore too narrow for buses to travel along safely. The C11 will continue to be placed on diversion up to/including Friday 22nd December 2023*

Due to the location of the roadworks the C11 service will divert (in both directions) after Pump Lane via New Nabbotts Way. 

The C11 service will serve Daffodil Way (in both directions) whilst the diversion is in place.

Whilst the service is on diversion the following bus stops will not be served:

• Saddle Rise
• Croft Court
• Harness Cross
• Carriage Drive

The A120, between Marks Farm Roundabout, Braintree and Marks Tey will be closed overnight from Monday 9th October 2023 to Friday 19th January 2024.

The road will be closed between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 - Monday to Friday only.

Service X20 will be permitted through the road closure.

However, please note. there may be slight delays to service as the bus will be required to wait for an operative to escort them through the closure.
