We have four Airport Flyer bus services, connecting Bristol Airport to the local area. All services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days a year (every day except Christmas Day).

  • A2 Portishead – Clevedon – Nailsea – Bristol Airport
  • A3 Weston-super-Mare – Worle Station – Bristol Airport

Group tickets are valid for up to 5 people of any age.

Return journeys must be made within 30 days of the original purchase.

English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes are not valid for travel to or from the airport on any service*.

Where to buy

For Adult Single and Day Returns, use tap on, tap off. Just tap on with a contactless card or device when you board the bus, and tap off when you leave. Tap on, tap off covers adult prices for Singles and Day Returns. Best of all, any connecting bus trips on other First West of England routes you start 3 hours before or after boarding Airport Flyer services are free!

Our full range of tickets are available on the First Bus app. Download the app, select tickets and filter your area to your Airport Flyer route to find your best ticket.

Tickets are also available on the bus from the driver – we accept contactless cards as well as cash (pound sterling). Please note some foreign bank cards may not be accepted by our machines and that we do not accept American Express.

Timetable and stops

The A1 operates up to every 8 minutes at busy times. Buses run a limited stop service, only stopping at certain bus stops. Between Bedminster Parade and Bristol Bus Station, buses will only stop to drop passengers off. View a map of the route and stops here. 

The A3 operates up to half hourly at busy times. It’s also limited stop, stopping at all stops between Weston-super-Mare Rail Station and St George’s Turn, and then at Congresbury, Cleeve Millier Road, Brockley Stores and the Airport. View a map of the route and stops here.

Services A2 and A4 run hourly, and stop at all bus stops along their routes. View the A2 route map here and the A4 route map here.

Local journeys

On services A1 and A3, standard First Bus, BristolRider, AvonRider and Freedom Travelpass tickets are not valid for travel on any part of the route.

On services A2 and A4, local fares are available. These are in line with normal First Bus fares, and standard First Bus, BristolRider, AvonRider and Freedom Travelpass tickets are accepted for journeys which do not start or finish at the airport, in their appropriate zone(s).

On service A1 local fares are available for all customers between Hobbs Lane and Winford Grove/Bishopsworth Road stops, for travel to or from Bedminster and Bristol City Centre. These are: £3.50 Adult Single/£6.70 Adult Return, £2.40 Student Single/£4.60 Student Return, £1.80 Child Single/£3.40 Child Return. Normal airport fares apply for trips which include Airport Tavern and the Fox & Goose stops, or local travel within Bedminster and Bristol city centre.

Other details:

  • Discounted tickets are available for Airport staff and staff of businesses along parts of the route. Please check with the Airport for full details.
  • Customers with local resident scheme passes issued by the Airport are entitled to discounted fares on the A1 and A3. Eligible local residents can apply for these scheme passes through the Airport. *These passes also entitle holders of English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes free travel to and from the Airport on the A1 and A3, where it is not otherwise valid.
