On Friday 15th December for one day only, there will be road works near the bus stop in Brockhurst road called Chantry Road towards Gosport. A temporary bus stop will be placed nearby. Please signal to the driver your intention to travel and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Services 102-104 

Harwich Road, Wix will be closed to traffic to traffic from Monday 18th - Friday 22nd December

Due to the location of the road closure, services 102-104 will be placed on the following diversions:

Towards Harwich - From Wix crossroads right into Colchester Road, A120, Horsley Cross roundabout, back along the A120, 2nd exit into Wix, War Memorial, left into Oakley Road and return to line of route.

Between the 19th February and 31 May 2024 Lower Farlington Road will be closed for road works. Service 22 will divert away from this area via Eastern Road and Sainsbury's in both directions. This diversion will miss out Lower Farlington Road and Fitzherbert Road. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

There will be a roundabout closure in the City Centre OVERNIGHT only between 8pm and 6am on the 8th January 2024. Station Square roundabout is next to Portsmouth and Southsea Rail station. During these times we will not be able to serve Commercial Road South. 
Services 1 and 2 (towards Fratton) will serve HMS Nelson then will divert away from the City Centre via Anglesea Road and Winston Churchill Avenue and back on normal route, missing out Commercial Road South.

As well as route 1 being diverted away from Festing Road, we have been told another bus stop is now closed.
This bus stop is on Albert Road, Called Festing road (outside the COOP) going eastbound. These works are expected to last until 18th December. Please use an alternative stop at Bristol Road or Albert Road lights for the route 2. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused during these works. These works are out of our control and may be changed at short notice.

Brent Road in Cossington is currently closed to service 75 until last bus on Wednesday 20th December to facilitate emergency carriageway works.

Service 75 will be diverted vis Manor Road, A39 and Woolavington Hill in both directions.

Regretfully the Park Close and Cossington bus stops will not be served and passengers are advised to board oar alight at either The Laurels bus stop on Middle Road or Knowle End bus stop on Old Mill Road.

First Essex delivers Christmas gifts to vulnerable children in Southend

Colleagues from bus operator First Essex, have donated over 200 gifts to Southend Council’s annual Christmas toy drive.

The toys, games and books, donated by First Essex employees at the Chelmsford depot, were delivered to Southend by First’s very own Santa and his team of elves in a classic 1960 Routemaster bus.
