A Little Valentine’s Day Treat from First Bus
To spread the love this Valentine’s Day, we’re giving away free single bus tickets to solo travellers’ across the country.
First Bus has confirmed that industrial action planned from Monday 3 February at its Huddersfield depot has been called off by Unite. The union will now hold a ballot of drivers on a pay offer it is recommending is accepted.
The package includes staged pay increases for drivers and lump sum payments up to £1,400 or more, dated back to September 2024. The overall deal covers a period of 24 months from April 2024 to April 2026.
It will increase the hourly rate for drivers in Huddersfield significantly and aligns with other depots of a similar size and scale.

Due to ash dieback works along the Portway, service 41 will divert to use Jacobs Wells road, Whiteladies Road and Stoke Road following the service 4 route through Stoke Bishop and into Sea mills to resume at Sylvan Way.
This diversion will be in both directions during the closure period.

Road traffic collision at Henconner Lane
This is impacting 15 services which will divert via Henconner Lane, Pudsey Road, Tong Road & Whingate - in both directions.
Services are now operating as normal.
Peterborough Road, Paulsgrove closed.

Towards Portsmouth:
At the end of Ludlow Road turn right onto Washbrook Road, follow to the end then turn left onto Allaway Avenue, follow this to the lights then turn left onto Southampton Road, follow to the lights and turn left into Pasteur Road, at the next set of lights turn left onto Sevenoaks road and follow up and turn right into Cavell Drive back on normal route.
Due to roadworks at Quenchwell Road, there will be a road closure affecting the L1 and L2 services from 10th February to 21st March. Normal service will resume on Monday, 24th March.
During this time, the Quenchwell Road stop will not be served. Students are advised to use the Carnon Downs/Carnon Downs Village Hall stop as an alternative.
Services will be diverted via the A39 and A390 in both directions:
The road between Cades Farm and Wellington High Street is closed for water works on Thursday the 6th of February between 19:00 and 4:00 (07/02).
Services are diverted via:
Towards Rockwell Green: After Cades Farm bus stop, via bypass, Hoyles Road and South Street to resume the normal route at North Street, heading towards Tonedale.
Towards Taunton: After the Three Cups bus stop, via South Street, Hoyles Road and South Street to resume the normal route at Cades Farm.

The A358 at Seven Ash will be closed for Airband Works between 19:00 and 6:00 from Monday 3rd of February (evening) to Tuesday the 4th of February (morning).
Services will divert via Raleighs Cross, a delay of around 20 minutes to journeys can be expected as a result.
We will be unable to serve stops between Bishops Lydeard and Williton.
