Essex Cricket Stars Take on First Bus’s ‘Battle of the Buses’ Challenge
First Bus East of England was thrilled to host the electrifying Battle of the Buses event, welcoming star players from Essex Cricket and key figures from the Department for Transport, who stepped into the driver’s seat to experience the precision and expertise required to operate a bus.

Temp lights at Allerton Road/ Pearson Lane are causing severe delays. Services in the vicinity are running up to 30 minutes late, and queues are reported all the way back to Toller Lane/ Carlisle Road.
Due to an incident on Stamperland, Clarkston Road, the services are diverting:
Diverting via Eastwoodmains Rd, Fenwick Rd, Braidholm Rd, Langside Drive, Muirend Rd

From Tueday 20th May until Thursday 22nd May, Church Street in Highbridge is closed for water works.
Buses will divert between Dunball Admirals Table and Pepperall Road.
We will be unable to serve British Car Auctions, Pawlett, West Huntspill, Huntspill Road, Highbridge Cash and Carry or Highbridge Cemetery (towards Burnham / towards Taunton unaffected).
From Monday 19th May until Thursday 22nd May, the A38 Thurloxton is closed for surface dressing works.
Buses will divert between Monkton Heathfield Primary School and Kerland Clinic, Bridgwater.
We will be unable to serve Walford Cross, Thurloxton, North Petherton and Compass Inn.
On Monday 19th May between the hours of 19:00 and 23:00, the road outside St Johns Church is closed for water works.
Buses will divert between Cades Farm and Wellington High Street. We will be unable to serve St Johns Church or Wellington High Street.
Passengers for Taunton are advised to use the stop at Three Cups on Mantle Street or Cades Farm.
From Tuesday 13th May until Monday 19th May, Uffculme is closed for emergency water works.
Buses will divert between Appledore and Lucombe Park (Uffculme - Willand Road).
We will be unable to serve any bus stops in Uffculme or Ashley Close. Passengers are advised to use the stop at Lucombe Park.
From Monday 12th May until Friday 16th May, Dowlish Ford is closed for water works.
Buses will divert between Ilminster and Peasemarsh A358.
We we be unable to serve Listers Hill, Kingstone Turn, Dowlish Ford and Sea Mills.
From Monday 12th May until Saturday 17th May between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00, Langport Bow Street will be closed for works.
The last service from Taunton and last service from Yeovil will divert between Somerton Road (Langport) and Blackbrook Bus Gate.
We will be unable to serve Langport, Curry Rivel, Fivehead, Wrantage and Henlade.
Temporary Route Diversion. Wickham Horse Fair, Routes 20 and SD4
1200 Monday 19th until 2000 Tuesday 20th May.
Due to the annual Wickham Horse Fair, routes 20 and SD4 will be on diversion.
Route 20 will terminate at the temporary stop on Hoad’s Hill just before the roundabout. All passengers will alight and board at his location.
Stops at Wickham Square and adjacent stops will not be served during this event.
