First Bus has helped people in Aberdeen show how much their mum’s mean to them this Mother’s Day by choosing a selection of lucky winners to have their pictures and heartfelt messages displayed on the sides of buses across the city.

The competition allowed people to share an image of their mum and a special message to celebrate her, with winners having their entries displayed on the side of selected buses as they travel around the city.

Samantha Baxter was one of the lucky winners who nominated her mum with a heartfelt message which let her know how much she loves her and puts everyone else first all the while overcoming an aggressive breast cancer.

Grace Eloh was another winner, nominating her mum to celebrate her as her best friend and role model. She described her mum as the most selfless, caring and compassionate person she knows, who always shows unwavering resilience and determination while being the glue that holds the family together.

Graeme Macfarlan, Commercial Director at First Bus Scotland, said:What a lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day and I’m so thrilled that we’ve been able to help people share why the love their mums so much.

“It’s certainly a different and unique way of doing it compared to the usual chocolate and flowers and I think you can see by the buses travelling around Aberdeen that it’s a pretty special way for people to demonstrate their love for their mums on such a special day.”
