  • The Sunday service will also resume for the summer, operating every 30 minutes with last the last Sunday of operation being Sunday 2nd November 2025.

Service 1s will be a new school service running between Kewstoke, Sand Bay and Worle, with one journey each way on schooldays only.

Service 5 will be withdrawn and replaced by service 9 – please see details of service 9 below.

  • In the Worle direction, service 6 will move to the opposite side of Weston-super-Mare Interchange, and now use stand D. This is to take advantage of a scheme that will allow buses to turn left out of the Interchange and onto Alfred Street. This change will also mean that the 6 can bypass queuing traffic for Tesco and the Francis Fox Road/Station Road roundabout upon departure from the Interchange.
  • Buses on service 7 towards Worle will also move to this side of the interchange - please see below.

  • There are significant changes to service 7. The southern part of the 7 will be bolstered by the addition of two new variations of the route, the 7B and 7H, that will coordinate with the main 7 service to provide a service every 15 minutes between Oldmixon, Weston General Hospital, Coronation Estate and Weston town centre. These additional services will take a quicker route from Oldmixon and the Hospital, making use of Drove Road rather than Walliscote Road and Severn Road.
  • In addition, in Weston town centre, the 7 will be re-routed away from the seafront to save time, so it can be invested in the service’s punctuality. Heading towards Worle, the 7 will now enter the Interchange from Walliscote Road and serve Stop E at the Interchange (the current route 7 stop for buses heading towards Locking Parklands). It will then make a left turn onto Alfred Street, before turning right onto The Boulevard and resuming the current route. Towards Locking Parklands, the service will operate the reverse of the above and serve Stop H in the Interchange. Note, that Stop E and Stop H have been swapped in terms of 7 destination; in simple terms, customers for the Worle direction will now need to use Stop E and not H. Customers wishing to travel towards Locking Parklands will need to use Stop H and not E.
  • The main pattern of the service (Locking Parklands to Worle) will be reduced to half-hourly. It is advised that passengers wishing to head towards Worle High Street and Worle Terminus also make use of the 6 service, which has equivalent journey times to both Worle High Street and Worle Terminus. For convenience, the 6 will also move to start its journey to Worle from Stop D in Weston Interchange, the same side of the interchange (and one stop along) as the Worle-bound 7.

  • A new service 7B will operate in tandem with the 7 and will offer an enhanced frequency of buses to Weston General Hospital and Loxton Road Campus.
  • The route will operate from Weston Interchange and down Drove Road where it will pick up the current 7 route as far as Weston Hospital, and then commence a loop around Bleadon Hill, serving Burnham Drive and Totterdown Lane. This service will run hourly from around 8:30am till 6pm on weekdays.
  • The service will offer residents of Bleadon Hill direct links to Weston Hospital, Loxton Campus, and upon reaching Weston Interchange, some journeys will continue onto Worle, Clevedon and Portishead as the X5. Customers may travel to these destinations directly from Bleadon by asking for a through ticket and remaining on the bus when it arrives at Weston Interchange. Please refer to timetables and their notes to identify which 7B trips continue on to Clevedon and Portishead.

  • A new service 7H will operate in tandem with the 7 and will offer an enhanced frequency of buses to Weston General Hospital and Loxton Road Campus.
  • The route will operate from Weston Interchange and down Drove Road where it will pick up the current 7 route, before extending out to Hutton. This service will run hourly from around 8am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • The service will offer residents of Hutton direct links to Weston Hospital, Loxton Campus, and upon reaching Weston Interchange, some journeys will continue as service X5 onto Worle, Clevedon and Portishead. Customers may travel to these destinations directly from Hutton by asking for a through ticket and remaining on the bus when it arrives at Weston Interchange. Please refer to timetables and their notes to identify which 7H trips continue on to Clevedon and Portishead.

  • Service 9 will be restructured and operate for more of the day and on Saturdays, too.
  • Buses will operate generally every two hours from Worle Retail Park, Queensway, Worlebury, Bristol Road Lower and then via South Road, Atlantic Road, Maderia Road and the seafront into Weston-super-Mare town centre, replacing service 5.
  • The 9 will no longer serve West Wick or the Flowerdown area, which will be served by new service X11.

No change.

  • Service 126 will see significant changes following a tendering process by North Somerset and Somerset Councils.
  • To speed up the journey to and from Weston-super-Mare, buses will run from Banwell via the A371, Hutton Moor and Locking Road, instead of via Hutton and Uphill. Hutton will now be served by the new 7H service.
  • The timetable will be revised on all days, and the frequency on Saturdays improved with two buses now running the service instead of one.

  • The X1 will have a new timetable including extra evening journeys on Monday to Saturday and a new night service will operate on Friday and Saturday nights. This will run as new route X14 (see below) and will connect Bristol and Weston via the Portway, Portishead and Clevedon.
  • Three X1 journeys a day will run as an X1s via Long Ashton to provide extra capacity for students attending Backwell School. One journey in the morning will run from Bristol to Weston via Long Ashton, arriving at Backwell Crossroads in time for school opening. In the afternoon, two journeys will run from Weston to Bristol via Long Ashton, around school finishing time.

  • To provide more direct and faster journeys, service X5 will be re-routed between Clevedon and Worle via the M5 motorway, bypassing Yatton, Cleeve and Congresbury.
  • In Clevedon, buses will return to operating between the town centre and motorway junction via Old Church Road, Southern Way and Central Way. In Weston-super-Mare, buses will operate directly between Worle Retail Park and the town centre via Locking Road.
  • New service X11 will provide a replacement to many areas that X5 will no longer serve – please see the service X11 section below.
  • At Portishead, buses will now operate between the town centre and Sainsbury’s via Harbour Road. The school journey to/from the Sheepway will no longer operate.
  • The frequency will be reduced to roughly every 90 minutes, with key journeys running in both directions at peak times. All X5 journeys will run through to Weston College Loxton Road Campus and Weston General Hospital as another service (either service 7B or 7H), and the same in the other direction. Through fares will be available.

  • Service X6 will see significant improvements following increased usage of this service, being enhanced to a frequency of every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes and therefore doubling the number of fast, direct buses between Clevedon and Bristol. The last bus from Bristol will operate later than at present, and in addition, the X6 will be introduced on Sundays and Public Holidays at an hourly frequency, offering an extra, fast bus per hour between Clevedon and Bristol on this day.
  • At Clevedon, service X6 will no longer serve the Walton Park/Dial Hill area, with all journeys terminating instead at Six Ways. Services X7 and X7a will serve this area instead.
  • A new night bus will operate on Friday and Saturday nights from Bristol via the Portway to Portishead, Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare. This will run as new service X14 - please see below for details.

  • Service X7 will undergo significant changes to provide better connections between the towns and villages of North Somerset, offering a greater possibility for direct journeys between large parts of Clevedon, Tickenham, Nailsea and Nailsea and Backwell Station. At Clevedon, journeys will serve the Walton Park/Dial Hill area during Monday – Saturday daytimes, replacing the X6 there.
  • Between Nailsea and Bristol, the service will operate via Backwell instead of Wraxall, and use the Long Ashton by-pass (instead of running via the village), as per the current X8 route, which it will replace. The service will run hourly initially, and on Sundays and evenings will operate as a modified version of the route, service X7a, that will serve Long Ashton rather than use the Long Ashton by-pass. Existing customers of the X7 for Long Ashton and Wraxall during the daytime on Monday – Saturdays should use the X9 which will remain on its current route.
  • A new night bus will operate on Friday and Saturday nights from Bristol via the Portway to Portishead, Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare. This will run as new service X14 - please see below for details.

  • Through connections with service 9 in Weston, which will serve South Road and Worlebury on a similar timetable and operate with the same bus, will be available. However, customers are warned that connections may not be guaranteed as a result of unforeseen congestion or other factors.
