Weston-super-Mare service changes - 03 November 2025

Service X5

Amendments have been made to the timetable on weekday afternoons to address safeguarding concerns for students of Loxton Campus at Weston College. The afternoon headway of services toward Portishead from Weston-super-Mare will be extended through the introduction of an additional short-working journey to serve Loxton Campus at a more appropriate time. The last service toward Hutton will also operate later as a result.

The existing 15:38 journey from Hutton will be re-timed slightly and terminate at Weston-super-Mare (Interchange) at 16:06. The existing 16:15 journey to Portishead will instead operate a short to Weston General Hospital before resuming service toward Portishead from there at 16:32. This will enable the service to pass Loxton Campus at a more appropriate time for students and allow the service to become as accessible as possible. Subsequently, the existing 17:40 journey from Portishead to Hutton will instead operate at 18:05, calling through Weston-super-Mare (Interchange) at 19:15.

Additionally, alongside this change, time will be redistributed around the loop at Hutton on all days of operation in order for buses to have a more suitable location to wait time. The start/end stop will remain as Warren Close (0190NSC30104), however recovery time will be moved to Holm Road (0190NSC30111) which will be shown as an arrive/depart stop.

There will be no other changes to the route and the core timetable will remain unchanged.

Service X18

Service to be amended at short-notice due to safeguarding  concerns of students from Loxton Campus of Weston College. This will also incorporate route and timetable changes to address capacity issues on service X5 and provide an off-peak daytime service supported by North Somerset Council.

The start stop will be moved to Engine Lane, Nailsea (0190NSA01289) and incorporate a route extension funded under S106 from North Somerset Council. From Nailsea, services will operate via Tickenham to Clevedon (Triangle) to provide capacity relief for service X5 for student movements toward Weston-super-Mare. From Clevedon, services will operate via Yatton, Claverham and Congresbury to Worle before continuing to Weston General Hospital via Mead Vale and Weston-super-Mare (Interchange). The end stop will be moved from Loxton Campus (0190NSC30326) to Weston General Hospital (0190NSC16182).

The existing 07:25 journey from Nailsea (Stock Way South) will instead depart from Engine Line at 07:00.

Additional journeys will operate from Engine Lane at 09:30 and 12:30 to Weston-super-Mare (Interchange) with return facilities to operate at 11:00 and 14:00.

The existing 17:10 journey from Loxton Campus will instead depart from Weston General Hospital (Grounds) at 16:32 to provide enhanced accessibility to students and additionally provide capacity relief for service X5.

Operational days will no longer be influenced by college term dates and the service will instead operate on all weekdays.
