Weston-super-Mare service changes - 03 November 2025

There will be service changes to the X5 and X18 from 3 November 2025.

Service X5

Amendments have been made to the timetable on weekday afternoons to better match journeys for school and college times. 

The existing 15:38 journey from Hutton to Portishead will be re-timed slightly and now terminate at Weston-super-Mare (Interchange) at 16:06. The bus will then return to Weston General Hospital, and run a journey from there to Portishead at 16:32, passing Loxton Campus at 16:35. Subsequently, the existing 17:40 journey from Portishead to Hutton will instead operate at 18:05, calling through Weston-super-Mare (Interchange) at 19:15.

Additionally, in Hutton, buses will now wait between journeys at the Holm Road stop, rather than the Warren Close stop.

There will be no other changes to the route and the core timetable will remain unchanged.

Service X18

Amendments have been made to the route and timetable, to better match journeys for school and college times, and provide more capacity between Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare, to support the X5. Additionally, new off-peak daytime journeys will run, supported by North Somerset Council.

At Nailsea, the service will be extended to start and finish at Engine Lane, running via Queens Road and Mizzymead Road to the town centre. The service will then run from Nailsea to Congresbury via Clevedon, Yatton and Claverham, instead of Backwell. Between Worle Terminus and Weston-super-Mare town centre, buses will run via Mead Vale rather than the full length of Locking Road. Buses will also serve Weston-super-Mare Interchange. Buses will also run to/from Weston General Hospital after Loxton Campus.

The existing 07:25 journey from Nailsea (Stock Way South) will instead depart from Engine Lane at 07:00.

Additional journeys will operate from Engine Lane at 09:30 and 12:30 to Weston-super-Mare Interchange with return journeys operating at 11:00 and 14:00.

The existing 17:10 journey from Loxton Campus will instead depart from Weston General Hospital (Grounds) at 16:32 to provide enhanced accessibility to students and provide extra capacity alongside the X5.

This service will now run on all weekdays, instead of just college term days.
