Update 22/06/26- This closure has been postponed until Monday 29th June.

The Sheepway, Portishead will be closed from 25th June until further notice for strengthening works to the bridge, for the railway line construction. This will affect service X4.

Buses will divert between The Vale stops on Wyndham Way and the stops at Gordano Services via The Portbury Hundred in both directions, missing out the stops at Conference Close, Portishead Ecology Park, Shipway Farm, Elm Tree Park and Station Road.

We have been informed that a pair of temporary stops will be put in place at Wyndham Way, close to the Sheepway Roundabout, as an alternative to the closed Conference Close stops.

Buses towards Bristol will serve the Portbury Hundred stop on The Portbury Hundred, as an alternative to the closed Station Road stop.

However, the Portbury Hundred stop towards Portishead is being closed by the local authority on safety grounds; therefore the X4 towards Portishead will not stop on The Portbury Hundred. Passengers wishing to alight here from Bristol should travel to Portishead Sainsbury's, where a shuttle service arranged by North Somerset Council will take people back towards the Sheepway. We'll add full details of the shuttle to this page when we know them.

Service X14 will also no longer be able to serve Portbury Hundred stop.

After the works are finished on Sheepway Bridge, Station Road Bridge at the other end of the Sheepway is then due to be closed, with the same arrangements in place for the X4.
