Update 08:10 The road has now re-opened. Services are starting to return to normal, but with delays.

Rupert Street Bristol has been closed by the emergency services from 07:00 this morning 22nd May.

Services 1, 2 & 2a towards Cribbs Causeway or Brentry will divert after crossing Bristol Bridge via Baldwin Street, Marsh Street, through Broad Quay and resume normal route from The Centre bus stop C7. Union Street bus stop B12 will be missed out - please use Bristol Bridge stop R9 or The Centre stop C7 instead.

Buses towards Broomhill and Stockwood are able to operate normal route and stops.

Services 3 & 4 towards the City Centre will run normal route to Baldwin Street, bus stop C13, and terminate there. Buses will continue out of service via Bristol Bridge, Redcliff Street, The Grove, Prince Street and Broad Quay to The Centre bus stop C7.

Buses towards Cribbs Causeway will start from The Centre, bus stop C7.

Union Street bus stops B14 and B12 will be missed out - please use The Centre stop C7.

Service 5 will divert via Malborough Street and Park Row

Service 8 & 72 will use Lower Castle Street, Broad Weir,Wine Street,Baldwin Street, Marsh Street to City Centre.

Service 16

Services 41,42, 43, 44 & 45 will from Bond Street turn at Haymarket Roundabout and return to Old Market and then use Lower Castle Street, Broad Weir,Wine Street, Baldwin Street and Marsh Street to City Centre, or Prince Street to Hengrove or Whitchurch.

Services 46,47,47x,48,49,49x and 50

Services 70 & 77

Services 24, 25 74, 75 & 76 will follow Bridewell street, turn right under the Galleries then onto Wine Street, Baldwin Street and left into Marsh Street and stop on the Metro stop on Prince Street. 

Services U2, X1, X1a, X4, X6, X6a and U2 leaving Bristol are diverting from Bristol Bus Station via Upper Maudlin Street past the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Park Row, Clifton Triangle and Jacob's Wells Road to Hotwell Road, missing out the bus stops at The Centre and Anchor Road. Please use Bristol Bus Station or Hotwell Road stop.Services towards Bristol are following normal routes.

Services 39,X39,172, 374, 375, 376, 376a, and 522 will operate Via Nelson Street, Fairfax Street, Wine Street and Baldwin Street to continue normal service at Prince Street.

metrobus m1 & m2 will from Bond Street turn at the Haymarket Roundabout Return to Old Market and then use Lower Castle Street, Broad Weir,Wine Street,Baldwin Street and re-commence service at Prince Street.

metrobus services m3, m3x & m4 into the city centre will terminate at Bond Street, Cabot Circus stop S2, and towards Emersons Green or Cribbs Causeway will start from Bond Street, Cabot Circus stop S1. Broadmead stops B1 and B2 on Lewins Mead/Rupert Street, and The Centre stops C1/C2 will not be served - please use the Cabot Circus stops on Bond Street.
