Changes to Tickets Across Somerset from 30 August

We're making it easier to travel across Somerset and the West of England by simplifying our ticket range.

From 30 August, ticketing across Somerset will be integrated into a single, easier-to-understand offer, giving customers greater flexibility when travelling throughout the region.

Day Tickets

Local day tickets for Bridgwater, Taunton and Yeovil will continue to be available as they are today. The price of a Town Day Ticket will be £6.80.

For travel across Somerset and the wider West of England area, including Bristol and Bath, customers can purchase a West of England Plus Day Ticket, priced at £9.50 for adults. These are now available on the First Bus App and by capping on Tap on Tap off.

Discounts for Young People and Students

Customers aged 16-21 and students can enjoy a 10% discount on eligible tickets. 

Children aged 5-15 can travel for 50% of the adult fare.

Please note that student and young person discounted tickets are only available through our First Bus App and cannot be purchased from the driver.

Weekly and Monthly Tickets

To make travelling even more convenient, weekly and monthly tickets will be available through:

• The First Bus App
• Tap On, Tap Off weekly fare capping

These tickets will no longer be sold via the driver.

Single Fares

From 30 August, the standard single fare will increase from £2.40 to £2.60.

The £3 fare cap will remain in place, helping to keep bus travel affordable.
