The A370 will be closed between Backwell and Brockley Combe Road from Monday 13th April until Friday 17th, between 07:00 and 19:00 each day. Diversions will be in place for the X1, X1a and A2 in both directions.

Services X1 and X1a towards Bristol will use normal route as far as Congresbury, Station Road stop, and will then divert via Brinsea Road to the A38 at Langford, and then continue via the A38 and Colliters Way to resume normal route into Bristol from Blackmoors Lane stop.

Buses towards Weston-super-Mare will divert after serving the Winterstoke Road (Ashton Bridge) stop via Colliters Way and the A38 to Langford, then into Congresbury, resuming normal route from the Strawberry Lane stop.

The X1a will additionally double back to service stops through Long Ashton village as normal.

Unfortunately all stops from Congresbury Tesco until Flax Bourton Lay-By inclusive cannot be served, as well as Congresbury Bridge towards Weston-super-Mare.

However, service A3 will be able to operate its normal route, and this will be serving all stops between Congresbury and Brockley Coombe while the X1 is diverted. Residents Airport fares will be charged on this service (non-standard First Bus prices).

Alternatively, services and X11/X11s will be running their normal route from Cleeve to Congresbury and onto Weston.

Service A2 towards Bristol Airport will run normal route into Clevedon down Walton Road, and then due to the additional closure of Tickenham Road, will turn right, and run via Old Street and through Clevedon town centre, then via Kenn and Yatton to Congresbury, then along the A370 to Brockley Combe to resume normal route. Buses from the Airport towards Portishead will operate the same diversion in reverse.

Additionally, a Shuttle Bus A2 will operate between Bristol Airport and Nailsea, from the Airport via the A38 and Coliters Way to Long Ashton, then the A370 to Backwell and then the normal A2 route to and from Nailsea.

Service 20 Rectory Way/ Lympsham Closure Diversion All Day on 08/04/2026

Due to a road closure, 20 will be unable to service Lympsham all day on 08/04/2026.

20 will operate the following diversion;

20 Towards Burmham on Sea: Normal route on A370 until The Catherines Inn, onto Accommodation Road, Wick Road then resume normal service.

20 Towards Weston super Mare:

Operate the reverse of above.

Savage Wood Road / 74 / DIVERSION / 21st of June 2026

Savage Wood Road is closed until 23:59 on Sunday 21st June to for carriageway works.

As a result services will divert via Willowbrook and Savages Road (From Brook Way).

DATE EXTENSION - Daventry Road, Knowle - CLOSURE - (16 & 36) - Thursday 19th February to Sunday 31st May

*Now expected to open on 31st May - Road Works extended*

UPDATE 16:46 Thursday 26th February.

The full lengthof Daventry Road in Knowle is currently closed to services 16 and 36 and will remain fully closed until 18:00 on Sunday 31st May to facilitate carriageway works.

All services will be diverted from Melvin Square via Ilminster Avenue and Salcombe Road to resume normal route at Broad Walk Square in both directions.

Regretfully the St Barnabas Close bus stops for services 16 and 36 will not be served in either direction and passengers are advised to board or alight at either Melvin Square or Broad Walk Square. The bus stop on Broad Walk Square roundabout will be observed towards Melvin Square.
