Chapel Road, Brightlingsea is closed for roadworks from 27/04/2026 to 29/04/2026.

Due to the location of the road closure - The 87 will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester: Normal line of route. All bus stops served.

Towards Brightlingsea: The 87 will divert via Bell Green, Red Barn Road, Seaview Road and Ladysmith Avenue before terminating/recommencing journeys at the bus stop located outside Tesco Express (on Ladysmith Avenue/Victoria Place). The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Chapel Road
  • Hurst Green
  • Brightlingsea High Street
  • Victoria Place
