Good news for Glasgow and beyond. All single journeys on First Bus services across Glasgow and the surrounding areas will be capped at just £2 from 7 September... no matter how far you're travelling.
That's £2 to get to work. £2 to meet friends. £2 to head into town. Even £2 to start your journey to the airport on the Glasgow Airport Express.
Funded by Trasnsport for Scotland, the £2 fare cap is helping make everyday travel more affordable, leaving a little extra money for the things that matter most.

The £2 single fare offer allows customers to travel on all First Bus services in Glasgow for just £2 per journey no matter how far the journey is.
The £2 fare is available on all First Bus services in Glasgow and the surrounding areas including the Glasgow Airport Express. Some special event services, tickets, or journeys may be excluded. Please check route-specific information before travelling.
Customers can purchase a £2 single ticket on bus only (including Tap on Tap off). Single tickets will not be available on the First Bus app.
No. If your journey is eligible, the £2 fare will be available automatically when purchasing your ticket.
Yes. The £2 fare is available to all customers travelling on eligible services, unless otherwise stated.
Yes. Day, weekly, monthly and other longer-term tickets will continue to be available as normal. Return tickets will no longer be available to purchase, but customers can still enjoy great value by buying two £2 single tickets for a return journey. For many customers who travel regularly, longer-term tickets may continue to offer the best value, so we recommend checking all available ticket options before you travel.
Yes. Customers can continue to use contactless payment, including Tap on Tap off, cash, mobile tickets and other accepted payment methods, depending on the service.
If your standard single fare is less than £2, you'll pay the lower fare.
Yes. Customers eligible for free bus travel through the National Entitlement Card scheme should continue to use their card as normal.
Child fares are subject to existing ticketing arrangements unless specifically included as part of the £2 fare offer. Please check the ticket details for your area.
No. There are no exclusions to the £2 single fare offer on First Bus services in Glasgow and surrounding areas. Eligible single journeys across our network are covered by the scheme, making it easier and more affordable to travel.
Please note that the £2 fare applies to single tickets only. Other ticket types, including multi-operator and multi-modal tickets, are not part of the scheme and are priced separately.
No. Multi-operator and multi-modal tickets are not included in the £2 fare scheme and will continue to be available at their usual prices.
If you travel using tickets such as ZoneCard, PLUSBUS, Tripper or other tickets that can be used across multiple operators or modes of transport, please visit the relevant provider's website for the latest ticket prices and information.
