If you are over 60 or have a disability, you could be eligible for free bus travel to get around Scotland and your local area. You can check your eligibility here

You can apply online through your local council’s website, through your local Post Office if they offer this service, in person at designated council offices or through Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) if you live in one of the 12 local councils in the Glasgow and Strathclyde area.

You’ll usually need to provide proof of age, residency, and a photograph.

The bus pass is valid in the region or country it was issued in (Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland), but not across the UK.

However, some cross-border services may accept passes from neighbouring countries.

You can use your bus pass on most bus services in Scotland. There are no time restrictions with your bus pass in Scotland.

There are a few special services that are not included, check with your bus operator if you're not sure. For more information, visit here.

Once you have your pass you won't need to renew it, because it does not expire.
