Effective: Monday 29th June until Sunday 13th September 2026
Major gas network upgrade works are taking place around Newmains Cross and Bonkle. This £1.7m infrastructure project by SGN involves essential gas main replacements and will cause significant congestion in the area.
As a result, First Bus services 266 and X11 will be subject to delays and route alterations. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
Impact on Bus Services
Service 266

To/From West Crindledyke: Buses will operate on their normal route but are highly likely to experience delays due to expected heavy congestion.

To/From Shotts: Buses will operate on a diversion route (please refer to the diversion map below). Delays are expected.
Service X11

Route Shortened: The X11 will terminate at Newmains Cross and will not serve West Crindledyke.

Alternative Travel: Customers wishing to travel between Newmains Cross and West Crindledyke should transfer to/from Service 266.
