Following an incident in Glasgow City Centre, we have been impacted by significant road closures, and increased demand as a result of the closure of Glasgow Central Station. We're working hard to ensure you can keep moving, but appreciate that diversions and increased volumes have impacted our service delivery.

We're grateful for your patience during this time, and we will continue to work hard to get you where you need to be.

Our thoughts are with the local businesses and everyone impacted by the fire, and we’d like to share our thanks to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for their quick response on the scene.

Safety remains our top priority, so please bear with us while we work to minimise disruptions.

Scotrail ticket acceptance:

We’re working with ScotRail to help keep you moving. If you have a physical, digital, or SmartCard rail ticket, you can hop on any of our buses from Newton, East Kilbride, Cathcart, and Paisley into the city at no extra cost. While the situation near Glasgow Central continues, we’re here to help you get where you need to go as smoothly as possible.

SPT Glasgow Subway ticket acceptance

We're pleased to let you know that we have worked with SPT to agree a ticket acceptance on board the  Glasgow Subway network, from Bridge Street and Cessnock Stations.

This will allow customers travelling directly into the city centre to alight near these stations, and board the underground to complete their journey.

This ticket acceptance will be in place from XX today, until further notice. You'll hear from us again if anything changes.

What do you need to do?

  • If you're travelling into Glasgow City Centre, you can hop off the bus and board Glasgow Subway at Bridge Street, and Cessnock Stations to complete your journey.

  • You'll need to show your bus ticket to access the subway. This can be your mticket on the First Bus App, your NEC Card (for over 60s and U22s) or a paper ticket issued by the driver.

  • Passengers who travel using Tap on Tap Off (TOTO) will be required to show a transaction verifying they have used the service*

*Please note, the visual verification for TOTO refers only to proof a transaction has been made. There is no requirement to share private banking information, detail or statements.
