Bothwell Street - Service X8 & 500

To allow for bridge works on Saturday 7th November 18:00 until Sunday 8th November 13:00 and Saturday 14th November 18:00 until Sunday 15th November 13:00, closures are required across the M8 motorway, in both directions, between Junctions 19 (Anderston) and 24 (Helen Street).

During this time Services 500 & X8 will be diverted away from the M8 and significant disruption is expected. Please note, other routes in the areas surrounding the M8 motorway will be extremely congested and other First Glasgow services will also be subject to delays and disruption. Passengers are advised to plan their journey in advance and allow extra time to complete their journey.

Service 500 towards Glasgow Airport                                                              
Normal City Centre route to Waterloo Street, please note, only the first bus stop on Waterloo Street will be served due to diversion. Please board Waterloo Street before West Campbell Street or St Vincent Street.

Service 500 towards Buchanan Bus Station                                             
Service 500 will arrive in City Centre from Argyle Street and then drop off passengers on Hope Street at Central Station. The service will operate normally once in City Centre.

Service X8 towards Silverburn                                                                   
Normal route Renfield Street and continue Renfield Street onto Union Street, Jamaica Street, Glasgow Bridge, Eglinton Street, Pollokshaws Road, Barrhead Road, normal route to Silverburn/Pollok. Passengers who normally board Service X8 at Waterloo Street should board on Renfield Street at before West Regent Street or the first bus stop on Union Street (opposite Central Station).

Service X8 towards Buchanan Bus Station                 
Normal route Barrhead Road at M77, continue Barrhead Road, Pollokshaws Road, right into Pollokshaws Road, Eglinton Street, Nelson Street, Commerce Street, King George V Bridge, Oswald Street, Hope Street normal route.

Disruption is also anticipated on the below routes and services.

266 & X11 | Bonkle Road

Due to an emergency road closure at Bonkle Road and the implementation of 4-way temporary lights at Newmains Roundabout, the following diversion will be in place for Service 266 to/from Shotts

Towards Shotts
Normal route to Newmains Cross; at the roundabout 3rd exit on to the A71, at next roundabout first exit, left Church Road, right Bonkle Road normal route.

Towards Hamilton
Normal route: Bonkle Road, left Church Road, right A71, continue to roundabout, right A71 to Newmains Cross and normal route.

Significant delays to all 266 and X11 journeys is expected during these works. Passengers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel. We apologise for the inconvenience caused due to circumstances out with our control.

Services 6, 18, 18A, 21, 41, 240, 255, 263 & 267 - Road works

To allow for Glasgow City Council Avenues works on Tuesday 4th August, St Vincent Place will be closed until works are completed.

During the closure the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 18/18A towards Douglas Street

• Buses will operate via High Street, Castle Street and Cathedral Street.
• The first stop on High Street will still be served.

Service 21 towards City

• Buses will operate via Saltmarket, High Street, Castle Street and Cathedral Street.
• The stop on High Street before Cathedral Bridge will not be served.
• Customers should use the first stop on High Street instead.

Service 267 towards Buchanan Bus Station

• Buses will divert via Bridgegate, Saltmarket, High Street, Castle Street and Cathedral Street.
• The first stop on High Street will still be served.

Service 41 towards West Regent Street

• Buses will divert via John Knox Street, Castle Street, Cathedral Street, Bath Street and Renfield Street before returning to normal route.

Services 240, 255 & 263

• Buses will divert via High Street, Cathedral Street, North Hanover Street and Killermont Street.
• The first stop on High Street will still be served.

Service 6 towards Hope Street

• Buses will divert via Midland Street and Hope Street.
• The stop on Stockwell Place will not be served during the diversion.
