Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester will be closed for roadworks on a daily basis from Wednesday 26th June 2024 to Monday 1st July 2024 (from 09:00hrs to 17:30hrs each day).

Due to the location of the road closure, the S8 and 174/175 services will be placed on diversion:

S8

The S8 service will divert, in both directions, via Mersea Road and Stansted Road. The following bus stops will not be served:

Talcott Road
Monkwick Avenue

174 - only one journey will be placed on diversion (15:05 departure from Stanwell Street)

The 174 service will divert via Stansted Road and Queen Elizabeth Way before returning to normal line of route on Monkwick Avenue. The next bus stop served will be The Thomas Lord bus stop. The following bus stop will not be served:

adj Talcott Road

175 - only one journey will be placed on diversion (07:30 departure from Stanwell Street)

The 175 service will divert, after serving The Thomas Lord bus stop, via Queen Elizabeth Way and Stansted Road before returning to normal line of route. The following bus stops will not be served:

Monkwick Avenue (adj)
opp Talcott Road

We are making minor changes to the Essex bus network from Sunday 1st June 2025.

2A	Highwoods to Horkesley Heath	Minor timetable changes to evening and Sunday journeys to improve the punctuality of the 2A service. This service is operated under contract to Essex County Council. Essex County Council has approved the timetable changes.
X20	Colchester to Stansted Airport (via Braintree)	The X20 service will be re-routed, between Great Dunmow and Stansted Airport, via the B1256, Little Canfield and Takely. The overall number of journeys provided remains unchanged, with some minor timing changes to the timetable to accommodate the re-routing. The change in route provides a weekly/24hr service to Stansted Airport, Great Dunmow, Braintree and Colchester. 45 minute journeys between Braintree and Stansted Airport. The maximum single fare remains at £3 until the end of 2025 (funded by HM Government). This offers great value for journeys from Colchester, Braintree and Great Dunmow to Stansted Airport. For customers travelling between Takeley and Stansted Airport - a maximum £2 single fare will apply.
407/417	Old Harlow to Harlow Hospital	The Old Harlow terminus point has been moved from Aspen Way to Old Oak Way.
