Springfield Road, Chelmsford (from junction with Arbour Lane to junction with A138 Springfield Roundabout) will be closed for roadworks from Wednesday 17th July to Monday 22nd July 2024, from 10:00hrs to 15:00hrs on a daily basis.

Due to the location of the road closure the C8 and 73 services will be placed on diversion:

Service C8

The C8 service will divert, in both directions, via Arbour Lane, and Church Lane

The following bus stops will not be served:

  • opp Chelmsford Prison
  • Brookhurst Close (in both directions)
  • Oaklea Avenue (in both directions)
  • The Endeavour (in both directions)
  • Springfield Green (in both directions)

Service 73

Towards Maldon 

The 73 service will divert via Sandford Road and Chelmer Road before returning to normal line of route on Springfield Road.

Towards Chelmsford

The 73 service will divert via Eastern Approach, Chelmer Road and Sandford Road before returning to normal line of route on Springfield Road.

The following bus stops will not be served:

  • opp Chelmsford Prison 
  • Brookhurst Close (in both directions)
  • Oaklea Avenue (in both directions)
  • The Plough (in both directions)
  • Aldi (in both directions)
  • opp Pump Lane
