Old Heath Road, Colchester is closed, for overnight roadworks, from 19:00hrs on Thursday 12th June to 06:00hrs on Friday 13th June 2025.

Due to the location of the road closure - the 53/53A service will divert in both directions via Barn Hall Lane, Churchill Way, Normandy Avenue, Mersea Road and Abbot's Road.

The following bus stop(s) will not be served in both directions:

  • Barn Hall Avenue (towards Rowhedge ONLY)
  • Old Heath Post Office
  • Abbot's Road
