Chelmer Village Way, Chelmsford is closed for roadworks, on a daily basis, from Tuesday 6th May to Thursday 8th May 2025.

The road is to be closed from 10:00hrs each morning and is to re-open from 14:30hrs each afternoon.

Due to the location of the road closure - the 47, 71, 371 and 372 services will be placed on diversion:

47

Towards Broomfield Hospital: The 47 service will divert, after serving Berkely Drive, via Chelmer Village Way Roundabout, Beeleigh Link and New Dukes Way before returning to normal line of route on Cuton Hall Lane.

Towards Chelmsford City Centre: The 47 service will divert via New Dukes Way and Beeleigh Link.

The following bus stop(s) will not be served in both directions:

  • Goddard Way
  • Pollard's Green
  • Shopping Centre
  • Henniker Gate
  • Portway
  • Barlows Reach
  • Eglinton Drive
  • Chelmer Village Way (towards Chelmsford City Centre ONLY)
  • Chancellor Avenue (towards Chelmsford City Centre ONLY)

71, 371 & 372

The 71, 371 & 372 services will divert in both directions via Beeleigh Link and New Dukes Way.

The following bus stop(s) will not be served in both directions:

  • Goddard Way
  • Pollard's Green
  • Shopping Centre
  • Henniker Gate
  • Sheppard Drive
  • Brook End Road
  • Barlows Reach
  • Chelmer Village Way
