Boreham Interchange, Generals Lane Roundabout and connecting roads are to be closed for roadworks. 

The road closure will be in effect from 20:00 on Friday 27th October 2023 to 06:00 on Monday 30th October 2023.

Due to the location of the roadworks/road closures; the 371/71/71X services will be placed on diversion and will not serve Chelmer Village, Springfield and Boreham (unless otherwise stated*).

The diversion route(s):

• (North-bound) Services 371/71/71X travelling towards Colchester will divert via Essex Yeomanry Way (A1114), Maldon Road, A12 (north-bound) - returning to normal line of route in Hatfield Peverel at The Swan Inn bus stop.
• (South-bound) Services 371/71/71X travelling towards Chelmsford *will serve Boreham. The services will continue along the A12 (bypassing Springfield and Chelmer Village) and follow the diversion via Maldon Road and Essex Yeomanry Way (A1114) - returning to normal line of route at the Army & Navy Roundabout.

On Friday 27th October 2023 the first journeys to be placed on diversion will be:

• 371 | 20:45 departure from Chelmsford Bus Station. Please note. this journey will serve Boreham - ETA 2107 at Boreham, St Andrew's Church. (This journey will not serve Chelmer Village/Springfield, Sainsbury's).
• 371 | 19:20 departure from Colchester, Osborne Street

Free shuttle services will operate during the closure period:

• Service 1 (71 to Springfield): to and from Chelmsford Bus Station - Chelmer Village - Springfield (Sainsbury's)
• Service 2 (Boreham shuttle): Boreham, St Andrew's Church - Boreham, Elm Way - Hatfield Peverel, The Swan Inn
