Rayne Road, Braintree will be closed, on a nightly basis, for roadworks from Thursday 29th February to Saturday 9th March 2024 (between 19:00 and 05:00 hours).
This is a partial road closure -
- The 370 service will operate as normal towards Chelmsford.
- The 370 service operating towards Halstead will divert via High Street, St Michaels Rd and Fairfield Road before returning to normal line of route at Braintree Bus Station.
The following bus stops will not be served:
- Panfield Lane
- Blyth's Meadow
- Mount Road
- Railway Street
- Clinic

Service 4 | Velizy Avenue, Harlow | Road closure
Velizy Avenue, Harlow is partially closed for roadworks from Monday 29th July to Friday 13th September 2024.
Due to the location of the road closure - Service 4 will be placed on diversion:
Towards Latton Bush
Service 4 will operate to normal line of route.
Towards Harlow Town Railway Station
Service 4 will divert after serving Leisure Centre bus stop, via Third Avenue, Haydens Road, Fourth Avenue and Velizy Avenue before serving Harlow Bus Station.

Service C11 | Arbour Lane, Chelmsford | Road closure
Arbour Lane, Chelmsford will be closed for roadworks from Saturday 3rd August to Sunday 4th August 2024.
Due to the location of the road closure - the C1 service will divert, in both directions, via Springfield Road and Springfield Green.
The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

- Arbour Lane Bridge
- Hillary Close

Services B3- B5-1A-25 | Basildon & Pitsea Carnival 2024 | EVENT road closures
The Basildon & Pitsea Carnival returns on Saturday 27th July 2024. A few roads will be temporarily closed to traffic, on-and-off throughout the day, whilst the event takes place.
Due to the location of the road closures - the B3, B5, 1A and 25 services will be placed on diversion, between 11:00hrs and 14:30hrs, and will NOT serve bus stops located on Whitmore Way and Ghyllgrove.
B3, 1A and 25
The B3, 1A and 25 services will divert, in both directions, via East Mayne and Broadmayne.
*Passengers can board/disembark the B3, 1A and 25 services, on Broadmayne, at the following bus stops (in both directions)*:
- Barstable School
- The Fremnells
- Church Road Foot Bridge
B5
The B5 service will divert, in both directions, via Southernhay, Roundacre, Upper Mayne and Cranes Farm Road. The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions): Ghyllgrove Close and Audley Way.

Service B3 and B4 | Rectory Road, Basildon | Road closure
Rectory Road, Basildon will be closed for phased roadworks from Monday 22nd July to early September 2024.
Due to the complexity of these roadworks; the B3 and B4 services will be placed on temporary diversions, to reduce delays to overall service. These diversions will likely be revised dependent on the completion of the phased roadworks:
B3
The B3 service will divert, in both directions, via Wickford Avenue and South Mayne. The following bus stops will not be served:
- Howards Park
- Broadway
- Station Lane
B4
The B4 service will not serve Wickford Avenue* and will divert, in both directions, via South Mayne, London Road and High Road. The following bus stops will not be served:
- Chevers Pawen
- Chalvedon School
- Dover Way
- Howards Park
*Passengers can board/disembark the B3 service on Wickford Avenue at Dover Way (Stop ID: esxdmtga) bus stop, Chalvedon School (Stop ID: esxdmtdt) and Chevers Pawen (Stop ID: esxdmtdm).
Please note. these bus stops are located on the OPPOSITE side of the road to where the B4 service normally picks-up/drops off passengers travelling towards Tesco Extra, Pitsea.

Service X20 | South Street, Braintree | Road closure
South Street, Braintree will be closed from 18:00 on Monday 29th July to 05:00 on Wednesday 31st July 2024.
Due to the location of the road closure the X20 service will be placed on diversion:
Towards Stansted
The X20 service will divert, after serving Braintree Bus Station, via Victoria Street and the B1018 before returning to normal line of route on the A120.
The following bus stops will not be served whilst service is placed on diversion:
- Rue De Jeunes
- Courtauld Place
- Marshalls Road
- Tortoiseshell Way
Towards Braintree
The X20 service will divert, after serving Clare Road bus stop, via Pierrefitte Way, Rayne Road and Pierrefitte Way, Railway Street and Manor before returning to normal line of route at Braintree Bus Station.
The following bus stops will not be served, in both directions, whilst service is placed on diversion:

Service 87 | Brightlingsea Music Festival 2024 | EVENT road closures
The Brightlingsea Music Festival returns on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2024. A few roads will be temporarily closed to traffic whilst the event takes place.
Due to the location of the road closures - the 87 service (towards Brightlingsea) will divert, after serving Bellfield Avenue bus stop, via Chapel Road/Red Barn Road, Seaview Road and Ladysmith Avenue. The service will terminate outside Tesco on Victoria Road (B1029) before resuming journey (back towards Colchester). The next bus stop served will be Station Road (SW-bound).
The following bus stop will not be served:
- Chapel Road
- Hurst Green
- High Street
- Victoria Place

Service Changes from Sunday 28th July 2024 - All Essex
This notice was amended on 11/07/2024 | Reason for amendment: Information added regarding the 94 service (Sundays and Public Holidays only) being withdrawn.
Several bus services will be changing from Sunday 28th July 2024. In summary:
- We are introducing a brand NEW bus route to Colchester - Service S5.
- There will be some minor timetable changes to reflect passenger numbers during the school summer holidays.
- There will be changes to the financially supported bus network, across Essex, following the outcome of a recent local bus service consultation exercise by Essex County Council. In the majority of cases, the timetables remain unchanged. However, service operation has transferred between bus operators.
All changes have been detailed below by area and by category:

South Essex
REVISED service(s)
- 300 Chelmsford to Basildon - The Monday to Friday timetable has been revised for the school holidays.

The following services will now be operated by First Essex Buses. These services are financially supported by Essex County Council.
- 4A Southend-on-Sea to Great Wakering & Landwick (Sundays and Public Holidays). Additional Service 4 journeys will operate between Southend-on-Sea and North Shoebury, The Renown.
- 7 Southend-on-Sea & Hockley to Rayleigh (Monday to Saturday Evenings). The Monday to Saturday Daytime service continues to be operated by Arriva.

The following service(s) will now be operated by another bus operator. These services are financially supported by Essex County Council.
- 14 The Wick to Wickford Station - The Monday to Friday timetable (before 08:00 and after 18:00) will be operated by NIBS Buses. The following First Essex Bus routes will continue to serve The Wick:

Following the outcome of a local bus service consultation exercise by Essex County Council in 2023, the following services will cease operation:
- 256 Ramsden Heath to Basildon (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday only)
- 552 Ramsden Heath to Billericay Station (Monday to Friday)

- S5 Colchester to Greenstead (Monday to Saturday) - NEW ROUTE - to serve East Hill and Harwich Road. Up to EVERY 12 MINUTES.
- 75 Colchester to Maldon. Additional journeys to operate, on Sundays, between Colchester City Centre and Colchester Zoo. Revision to be implemented for the duration of School Holidays and on August Bank Holiday Monday (26th August 2024).
The following services will now be operated by First Essex Buses. These services are financially supported by Essex County Council:
- 15 Lexden to Marks Tey Station (Monday to Friday)
- 50/50A Colchester to Layer de la Haye/Tollesbury (Monday to Saturday)

The A120, between Bishops Stortford and Braintree will be closed for works, on a nightly basis, from Monday 24th June to Monday 2nd September 2024 - from 20:00hrs each night to 06:00hrs the next morning.
Due to the location of the roadworks the X20 service will be placed on diversion:
Towards Stansted Airport
The X20 service will divert, after serving adj Tortoiseshell Way bus stop, via Pod's Brook Road, Rayne Road, The Street, Dunmow Road, B1256, B1008, Stortford Road, B1256 and Parsonage Road before returning to normal line of route.
Towards Colchester
The X20 service will divert via Parsonage Road, B1256, Stortford Road, B1008, B1256, Dunmow Road, The Street, Rayne Road and Pod's Brook Road before returning to normal line of route at opp Tortoiseshell Way bus stop.
