Queen Street, Colchester will be closed for overnight roadworks from 22/09/2025 to 24/09/2025 (from 23:00hrs to 06:00hrs each night).

Due to the location of the roadworks MULTIPLE Colchester services will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester City Centre:

From Middleborough - Services will divert via Balkerne Road, Southway and Osborne Street before returning to normal line of route.

From East Hill - Services will divert via Brook Street, Magdalen Street and Osborne Street before returning to normal line of route.

From Butt Road/Maldon Roundabout/Lexden Road - Services will not turn into Headgate/Head Street and will instead divert via Southway and Osborne Street before returning to normal line of route.

The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Head Street
  • High Street
  • Angel Court
  • The George 
  • Grey Friars
  • The Surgery
  • Queen Street
