The A12 between Witham and Marks Tey will be closed for overnight roadworks from 20/04/2026 to 25/04/2026.

*This is a timed road closure: the road will be closed between 21:00hrs and 06:00hrs*

Due to the timing of the road closure - only three journeys will be impacted:

20:45 Chelmsford -> Colchester 22:04

The 71 will divert via divert via the B1018 and A120. The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Post Office

  • The Railway Tavern
  • Feering Hill

21:15 Colchester -> Chelmsford 22:27

The 71 will terminate at Marks Tey Railway Station. All bus stops between (and including) Prested Hall and Chelmsford Bus Station will not be served.

22:10 Colchester -> Kelvedon 22:40

The 71 will terminate at Marks Tey Railway Station. All bus stops between (and including) Prested Hall and Chelmsford Bus Station will not be served.
