Colchester Road, Witham is closed for overnight roadworks (21:00 - 06:00) from 20/10/2025 - 29/10/2025.

Due to the location of the road closure - the 71 and 371 services will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester - The 71 and 371 services will only serve Witham bus stops opp Lynfield Motors and o/s Lynfield Motors; before re-joining the A12 and continuing on to Kelvedon.

Towards Chelmsford - The 71 and 371 services will bypass Witham and continue on the A12 - resuming normal line of route at Hatfield Peverel.

The following bus stops will not be served in both directions:

  • Lodge Farm
  • Maltings Lane
  • Shortridge court
  • Bridge Hospital
  • Mill Lane
  • Newland Street
  • The George
  • Avenue Road
  • Crittall Road
  • Freebournes Road
