Braintree and Bocking Carnival returns on Saturday 6th June 2026.

Whilst the event is underway there will be a rolling road closure on Rayne Road, Pierrefitte Way, Railway Street and Manor Street.

Due to the location of the temporary road closures - the 320 / X20 will be placed on diversion between 14:30hrs and 16:30hrs: 

Towards Stansted Airport: The 320 / X20 will divert via Cressing Road, B1018, A120 and London Road. The 320 / X20 will serve Tortoiseshell Way before circumnavigating the next roundabout and returning to normal line of route towards Stansted Airport.

The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Kings Head
  • Albert Road
  • Railway Street
  • Braintree Clinic
  • Braintree Bus Interchange
  • Rue De Jeunes
  • Courtauld Place
  • Marshalls Road

Towards Chelmsford: The 320 / X20 will serve Tortoiseshell Way before circumnavigating the next roundabout and diverting via the A120, B1018 and Cressing Road.

Please allow extra time for your journey. As this is a large event there will likely be minor delays, in and around the area, due to increased traffic levels.
