Canvey Island Christmas Light Switch On returns on Saturday 29th November 2025. 

Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island will be closed between 07:00hrs and 19:00hrs for the duration of the event.

Due to the location of the road closure; the 21, 22 and 27 services will be placed on diversion:

Towards Southend-on-Sea: Normal line of route. All bus stops served.

Towards Canvey Island: The 21 service will divert via Eastern Esplanade, Seaview Road, B1014 and Mitchells Avenue before terminating at Creek Road. The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Grafton Road
  • Poplar Road
  • Parkway
  • Oyster Fleet
  • Mornington Road
  • Harrow Road
  • Playing Fields
  • Whernside Avenue
  • Essex Road.

22 & 27

Towards Basildon: Normal line of route. All bus stops served.

Towards Canvey Island: The 22 and 27 services will divert via Eastern Esplanade and Seaview Road. The following bus stops will not be served:

  • Canvey Market
  • May Avenue
  • Normans Road
  • Maurice Road
  • Baardwyck Avenue
