The Partnership 

Hop on board First Bus route 75, linking Maldon, Tiptree and central Colchester with Colchester Zoo. The bus stops right outside the zoo gates!

Home to over 155 species and set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes, Colchester Zoo hosts many different habitats, from the humid home of our Komodo Dragons to their very own Africa plain, Kingdom of the Wild, home to white rhino, giraffes, ostrich, zebra and kudu. Plus, journey through their brand-new Dinosaur Realm and come face-to-face with creatures from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous period!

Colchester Zoo is soon to become a charitable trust known as Colchester Zoological Society. 

First and the zoo have previously worked in partnership to create the iconic and informative Colchester Zoo bus for their 60th birthday celebration – with our 'elf' driver even featured in their Christmas 2023 White Tiger Spirit advert. First have also attended zoo events, handing out information, merchandise, offering visits to explore the bus and sit in the driver’s seat, and running free zoo bus colouring activities and competitions.

Looking ahead, we're thrilled to continue our partnership with Colchester Zoo, offering visitors the chance to travel sustainably and affordably. So, get ready to ride into a world of wildlife wonders on Bus Route 75!
