First Bus celebrates its Pride in York
We're going to be promoting expression, acceptance and awareness for the LGBTQ+ community in our business by taking part in York Pride parade and festival this June!
York Pride
The completely free event will be taking place on Saturday 1 June with a host of exciting activities throughout the day. The parade route begins at York Minster and will end at Knavesmire where there will be a festival site with plenty of entertainment, food and drink, plus live music!
We'll be bringing along our Pride double decker bus to be part of the parade so give us a wave when you see our rainbow in the crowd. You'll also get to see it parked up at the festival site on Knavesmire where our colleagues will have a stall with games and freebies to be won. Pop by to say hello and grab yourself a souvenir.

Pride Day Ticket
It's important that residents and visitors can access York Pride to join in the celebrations, so we've created a discounted bus ticket especially for the day. Our Pride Day ticket is just £3.50 for unlimited travel across York throughout Saturday 1 June.
How to purchase your ticket
- Step 1 - Download the First Bus App
- Step 2 - Head to the 'Tickets' tab, select 'Buy' and then choose your area as 'York'
- Step 3 - Click into 'Promotions', select the Pride Day ticket
- Step 4 - Buy your ticket(s)
- Step 5 - Activate your ticket(s) before you travel
- Step 6 - Catch the bus all day to get around York
NOTE: The ticket will be available to purchase from 31 May and is valid for travel on 1 June only.
