Changes to University of York timetables
Our University of York buses are currently running on their summer timetable until Sunday 7th September 2025. Some services have been reduced, and some have been paused.
We’re bringing discounted, easy bus travel to students across York so you can explore the city, or keep doing the things you love, for less!

Introducing your University services
The U1 and U2 will be your best travel buddies, offering services into York City Centre every 7-8 minutes during the day. The U1, it's your trusty ride from York Sport Village into York city centre via Green Dykes Lane and Lansdowne Terrace. Just like the band, the U2 is a classic. It’s your go-to ride from York Sport Village into York City Centre via The Retreat and the Barbican, catch this bus and you're sure to have a 'Beautiful Day'.

Next up is the UN1, think of this as the U1's 'up all night partying' younger brother. Running midnight to 4:22 AM, seven days a week from Campus East into York City Centre via Green Dykes Lane and Lansdowne Terrace and back. Whether you’re heading out for a late-night study session or returning from a night out, the UN1 has you covered.
Services are reduced during the holiday period - The UN1 is currently operating on a reduced timetable on Friday and Saturday evenings only and will return to normal service from 7th September 2025. Click here for more information.

New for 24/25 is the U3, connecting you to the Barbican from Campus East via Fulford Road. This route is perfect for exploring new parts of the city or making the most of your time at York.

Last but by no means least is the U4, your new weekend service between Campus East and Designer Outlet via Fulford Road on Saturday and Sunday only. Ideal for a bit of retail therapy or a weekend adventure.

Free travel in campus zones
You can travel for free within the campus zone when you tap on and tap off the bus, you won't be charged if you get on anywhere between York Sports Village and Green Dykes Lane, The Retreat and Fulford Golf Club, depending on the service you catch. Check our network maps below for more information. If you can't tap on and tap off, you can pay a £1.50 fare to travel within the campus zone.
