Ride with pride, York!

At First Bus York, we are on a journey to a place where everyone is welcome, can be their true selves and can succeed.

We are committed to helping create easier access to Pride events and festivals across the community, including the York Pride parade on Saturday 18th June. Our Ride with Pride campaign incorporates a special travel support offer which we hope will benefit lower income households and disadvantaged groups, in particular, to embrace and enjoy the spectacle this weekend and relieve some of the pressure of the cost of living crisis. 

Our Pride Day ticket is just £3 for unlimited travel across York on Saturday 18th June is available to purchase from today on the First Bus App in the 'Promotions' section. The ticket is valid for unlimited travel on 18th June only.

Helping the community come together for Pride and share in the celebrations highlights the essential role the bus plays in local life. We'll be bringing along one of our 'Ride with pride' double deckers to take part in the York Pride parade and then park up at the festival site on Knavesmire with a stall and plenty of games, giving away free bus tickets - come and visit us!

The Pride community is a really important community in First Bus, and this June we are building a campaign to recognise the brilliant colleagues we have in the company and educate them in Pride awareness, using the Progress flag to steer this education.

We now have an executive sponsor for Pride, our Chief Operating Officer Andrew Jarvis, and have begun building a network of colleagues with lived experience, to support our journey and bring to life a culture of understanding.
