Potteries Roadworks Update W/C 19/04/2026

Diversions:

• Service 25 - On Monday 23rd March The Avenue was closed for 5 weeks. Buses will divert via Princes Road, Newcastle Lane and Hilton Road. There are also three separate sets of two-way lights further along Hartshill Road which will compound delays.

• Service 103 - A one way emergency closure was put in place on Liverpool Road West on Tuesday14th April. This closure is expected to be in place until 20th April. Buses are diverting inbound via Congleton Road and Linley Road.

• Service 38, 39 - SCC has a Road Closure scheduled for Friday 17th April until Monday 27th April. The Council have said that they only need 2 days so they have put the permit in for longer incase the weather prevents them from working one day. Drivers only need to diver when they see the road closed signs.

• Service 7A - On Monday 20th April until Friday 1st May Tower Hill Road in Brown Lees will be closed. Buses will be diverting via Lyneside Road in both directions. Only divert when the road closed signs are there.

• Service 25 - There will be a Fun Run event at Keele Campus on Sunday 19th April. There are two crossing points which runners will use. For safety, there will be stewards at these points. - Message sent on Ticketer

Ones to watch:

• Services 11,11X,11B - These services have 7 sets of roadworks on this week, including Dividy Road, Park Hall Road, and Hartshill Road. These services are very likely to run late.

• Services 101,22,25 - Lane closures are in place on A34 Newcastle Road between 07:00 and 15:00 daily. This will likely cause a bottleneck during the morning peak and school runs.

• Routes 99,98 - Multi-way lights on Porthill Bank on Thursday.

This week, Route 11/11X and Route 25 are our highest risk for significant delays due to a combination of full road closures and multiple sets of temporary traffic lights on the same corridors. I have emailed SOT Council to see if any of the roadworks can be postponed and I have noticed that the roadworks outside the depot and on Achor Road have vanished off One Network so hopefully the dates for these have been changed.

Bus Stop Closures

• Services 38,38A,36,36A,103 - The bus stop on Liverpool Road, Kidsgrove, adj Mount Road ST7 4EH (3800C590701) will be suspended from 14th April to 1st May for Severn Trent works. 

Due to roadworks near ford green hall the 98 and 8 service will be experiencing delays.

Charles Street has been closed from Humberstone gate East to Rutland street, due to a incident.

All route 15,16,17 are being diverted via Humberstone gate East, St Georges way and route 88/88a diverted via Abbey street, Burleys way, Vaughan way, South gates under pass, The Newarkes.

INBOUND Services to divert from Crewe Road prior to Lawton Arms, then via Linley Lane, A34, Carvery down to Red Bull Lights, resuming normal route from there...
